How many days a week does your 4 y.o. attend preschool?

DS is in a 3 year old program this year which is 2-1/2 hours, 2 days per week. Trying to decide how to tailor his 4-year-old program. How many days a week does your 4 year old go to school?

  • 3 days/2 hours a day
  • 5 days/week, 3 hours/day.
  • Alex isn't quite 4, but he will still be going 3 hours/3 days each week.

  • DD just turned 4 in January.  She is in a 3 yr/4 yr old mixed preschool class 3 days a week/3 hrs a day.  Next year she will be in the 4 yr/5 yr pre-K room for 3 hrs/day 5 days/week.  I didn't really want to do 5 days a week but her school doesn't offer a 4 day pre-K class.
  • 4 days/week

  • 4 days, 4 hours each day
  • Our 3yo program is 2 days x 2 hours/week. The 4 yo program is 3 days x 2 hours/week.
  • Right now and next year she goes/will go three days a week for 6 hours the year before pre-k I am debating on sending her 5 days a weeek, but since we don't have any half day pre-schools around here 30 hours a week just seems like a lot to me.
  • Wow, this seems like so much time for a 3 or 4 year old to be in school!

Actual kindergarten is only 13.75 hours/week here.

  • 3 days for 2.5 hrs.

  • Our kids all do/ did 3 year old & 4 year old preschool.  The 3k is Tues/ Thurs for 2.5 hr.  The 4k is Mon/ Weds/ Fri for 2.5 hrs.
  • 3 days, 3 hours/day.  Next year he's going into a 5 half day kindergarten.
  • Ethan is the the Pre-K 3 year old class..He turned 4 in November...and he goes Mon, Wed, & Fridays from 8-245 pm.  Normal school day.  Next year, when he is in Pre-K 4 year olds, he will be going Mon-Fri 8-245.

  • DD will go in the fall 8:30-11:20 M, W & F.
  • DS goes 5 days a week from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (Montessori school, that's pretty standard I think).  If he was at a different school, I would probably send him 4 days a week and make sure that at least 2 were until 2 pm.  I like that DS is there for lunch and has been working on being independent for lunch.  He will go to FT kindie and I've heard that lunch can be rough for the kindergartners b/c they have to be fast.

  • She has gone last year and this year 5 days/3 hours a day.  She was 4 in the fall.  It's a 3,4,5 yr. old class at Montessori.
  • My kids preschool is based at the daycare center and they are there full time, 5 days a week.  My older DD starts Pre-K at the elementary school in the fall and will also be there full time, 5 days a week.

  • DD will start 4K in the fall. Her program is 5 days/week for 2 1/2 hrs each day. They have both morning and afternoon sessions. She'll be in morning with the rest of the 4 year olds at her daycare. That's 8:45-11:15.

That seems low to me! We'll have the option of 1/2 or full days when DD eventually starts kindergarten. She'll go full days.

  • dd just turned 4. she goes MWF 9-11:45a.  next years is prek and she will go 9-2:30... we have not decided if it will be MWF or 5days
  • This year, DD#1 goes to preschool 2 days a week for 5 hours.  Next year, she'll continue at her current school and will either go to Museum school or Zoo school once a week for 2.5-3 hours (depending on which one she goes to).  We looked at a 4-year-old preK program that was 3 days a week 6.5 hours a day.  We really liked it, but it was way more expensive than her current program and we'd rather spend the money on other things like museum school and gymnastics and things like that.
