Example: DH buys me a lotto scratcher whenever he goes to a convenience store. It's a fun little surprise every now and then that doesn't cost much, but lets me know he's thinking about me.
He never spends money on himself for "fun" things. I want to find something that I can get for him periodically...something small that he'd enjoy, but something that is NOT sweets/candy.
I'm stumped! Any ideas?
Re: Do you ever get DH "I'm thinking of you" gifts?
a magazine?
(John would love the occasional copy of the New Yorker or Atlantic Monthly or the Economist, for example)
a nice beer or bottle of wine.

My Dh would choose sweets
Sometimes I send cards to the house since he gets the mail more than me to let him know he is thought of.
I'll pick him up things here and there, usually when I'm wandering around target. I used to buy him magazines, but now I get him something he likes that I don't, so cookies or sweets. Or sometimes special beer.
I give DH cards often to show I am thinking about him, sometimes I personalize it with a note or even a printout of a picture from something fun we've done recently.
I also like to pick up random things for him, like his fave magazine or book or even favorite snack from the grocery store/Target

I don't it too often - but, when I do it is a ton of fun. I love doing stuff like this.
The last time I did it... and actually spent a lot of money. I bought him the new Bon Jovi CD ( he has always been a fan) along w/ concert tickets. It was a great surprise. Typically though, I stick w/ a new magazine, shirt, shoes types of things... The Bon Jovi thing was a bit more expensive than I tend to do....
Almost every time I grocery shop, I'll come home with some type of candy or a drink or chips or something like that that I know he'll like. My favorite Raley's makes it easy with a specialty snacks (special types of chocolate, nuts, etc) right at the checkout. He loves sweets, so he's easy for little things like that.
I tend to get DH a larger bottle of his fav beer (Duvel). Or I buy chocolate milk (I don't like it, he loves it). Of course, it's not a regular thing, but he likes it.
I just saw a 'whiskey chocolate' pairing box of chocolates (again, this is sweets) and I'm thinking of picking that up for him since he gave up beer for lent.
I love doing this...again like others don't do it often enough. Most times it's a favorite treat: candy or ice cream.
I've picked up a magazine for him or stuck in a new photo I've taken of the boys into a card they've colored.
