So, my mom decided that she wanted to purchase the furniture for the twins.  Which is totally fine by me

.  So I was fine with just 2 cute cribs from BRU.  But not my mom.... every room in her house and the way she decorates has to be "HGTV certified", and i tease her about it almost daily!!!  So instead of something simple, she convinced me to let her buy two cribs that we found at a store that is for like the rich and famous.  But the crazy part is that it's going to take 18 weeks for my cribs to be delivered!!  Have I lost my mind?? Do you think that we are really pushing it?? I know for a fact the girls will be here before the cribs are... Does anyone think that it's a problem??  Thanks!!!
Re: am i crazy???
I don't think you are crazy for agreeing to it initially but I think that now I would back out... it just isn't functional. Let's say that your twins are born at 37 weeks - that still leaves 5 weeks to not have cribs. Even if you were planning on keeping them in your room for a little while, you may be ready to start the transition by 5 weeks. (we put ours in their cribs at 4 weeks) You need cribs, no matter if they are fancy or not. PLUS cribs often ship late or are delayed.
I think it will be a problem that you won't want to deal with when the babies get here. I would tell her that it isn't logistically a good idea and ask her if she wants to buy something else to spruce up the nursery but that you really need a safe place for her beautiful grandbabies to sleep.
GOOD LUCK!
I'm not sure what the crib names are called... however, i'm going to attempt to put a pic below. I've never added a pic before, so if it doesn't work then i'm sorry.
I do have a PNP for them when they first come home though
We had our girls in our room in one PNP and each sleeping in a Snuggle Nest until they were 3 months old. Then they went into one crib in their room, both still in their nests, and then finally no nests, each their own cribs at 5 months.
Can you call the store and explain the situation and see if 18 weeks is the usual time, or if it is just the worst case scenario? I rally loved having my cribs up and the room all done way before the girls came. It made me feel more prepared.
And here are the nests, in case anyone was interested. I STRONGLY recommend them!

We ordered our crib from a new furniture line that was suppose to take maximum 12 weeks to get here, we ordered end of April and because of so much delay it we only got them 2 days after we brought the babies home which was September 10 ...the boys slept in a PNP for their first two nights at home.
I'm surprised it would take that long for it come unless you come across any delay (which is what happened to us), but as long as you're ok with having them sleep in a PNP then it should be fine
