xp: what can pg mama do for a terrible cold?

i've been suffering for a week now, with the last 3 days being the worst (sinus congestion and constantly blowing my nose).  i use a humidifier and tried doing the neti pot but it didn't do much except loosen the mucus so that more could take its place.  i would rather avoid drugs, if there are even any that are safe, but i'm getting desperate...

    ginger tea, if you cannot find ginger tea just get some ginger root peal it and boil it in water.  This can be pretty strong so you may want to add some lemon juice.

    Ditto the ginger tea.  I peel some ginger root into the tea.

    I would keep trying with the neti pot, vicks and benadryl for night time. Plus I gargled with salt water and put hydrogen perioxide in my ears last time I had a sinus cold. Feel better!

    I took Claritin. Dr. and Midwife approved for pg and nursing. It was a huge help. I figured I'd rather take that and avoid a sinus infection where I'd need stronger drugs to kick it.
