stupid question- can diapers cut babies PIP

I know- dumb, dumb question-  and the answer is no.

 

BUT-  B has these 2 scratches, not just red from tightness or anything, but actual scratches along his thigh right where the diaper line would be.

Any ideas?

    It could be from rubbing. IDK though.

    Gianna had that once.  I think it was from rubbing on the diaper and maybe some dry skin.  I put aquaphor on it for a few days and it went away.

    I don't necessarily have the answer, but DS had the same thing the other week.

    DS had something similar but it was fingernail scratches. He was wearing a diaper and onesie only and managed to scratch himself close to where the diaper was. I clip his nails as often as I can but honestly I think he finds the ONE nail with a little catchy bit and gouges himself!

    the weird thing is- they seem like scratches, not chafing.  I did put aquaphor on in case, but it is bizarre

    also-  would you switch to the next size up diaper? we tried 4's on him and the diaper part is huge, but he does have some chubby thighs so I don't know if it is better to go bigger (but then i fear leakage and blow outs if that part doesn't fit)

    They could very well be scratches! DS has scratched himself in some very odd places.

    Huggies cut DD once.  I stopped buying them after that.  It was the tabs though so it was her tummy not her legs.

    Could it possibly have been from your ring by accident? I have accidentally scratched DD with mine and she didn't make a peep at the time but then I noticed a small scratch later on.

    This happened with Hannah (upper leg). I switched to size 4's and no problems now.
