I was reading your blog the other day and noticed William has reflux and is on medication. I was wondering what he is taking and how it has helped.
John has reflux, but is gaining weight. Our pedi didn't think he needed meds since he is gaining weight. He seemed to make it seem like if we put him on meds it would be because we didn't like to deal with the amount of spit up. John is still arching his back and slinging his head backwards after he eats and he still cries while being burped. I don't want to medicate him if he doesn't need it, but sometimes he seems so uncomfortable from it.

Allie had reflux. I could have dealed with the spit up, but I was tired of re-feeding her because after she would spit up, she would be hungry again. Also, she began refusing bottles because of the pain. I don't really believe in the baby suffering if they don't have to. You don't want it to get to where he begins to refuse to eat.
As for that, we began Zantac, but it didn't really work, so we moved on to Prevacid. We went to a pediatric GI specialist, and he said the reflux could be causing permanent damage to her esophogus and gave us carafate for 10 days to promote healing. The medication was the best thing that ever happened to us!!!
