Hey, girls.
I tried to open the bar remotely Friday, but AT&T thwarted my attempt.
At Cat's suggestion, I'm raising a glass of kahlua and cream in honor of my late great kitty, Aidan. He was a good and sweet boy. Salut!
It's so nice here in the NE today that I'm opening the roof deck of the bar!
I've got a whole new shipment of teeny umbrellas, plastic swords to hold fruit/olives, and several casks of wine. So what'll ya have?
Drink price: Your choice: Tell me what you'll grow in your garden/ flowerpot/windowbox this year. Or, tell me where you're going on vacation.
Me: All the usual veggies in my garden, and then some, because we're expanding it this year! The new things I hope to grow is sweet corn. We never had the room before...
Re: :::Starting the week off with a virtual drink!::
The weather is LOVELY on teh east coast today! I would like a caipirihina today, I think. Or, some nice white sangria with some mangos in it.
I do NOT have the green thumb in the family (that's DH's job) and we live in a small condo, so no garden. For vacation, it sounds like we are going to teh Northwest for my birthday in a few weeks and then we'll go to CO for my dad's birthday this summer.

Some sangria sounds good. Methinks we'll be doing a staycation this year--in addition to the recent m/c stuff, we had to shell out more than $3400 to repair a broken water pipe. The last two years, we've gone to FL to visit DH's dad and stepmother, but that probably won't be an option this year with those added expenses.
It depends, too, on whether I get pregnant in the next 3 months. Our fiscal year (and therefore my vacation days) starts over on April 1, so if I'd get pregnant again I'd need to save my days for maternity leave in the first quarter of 2011, which is the last quarter of our FY at work. If that doesn't happen, we might see about taking a driving trip somewhere this fall.
I would like a Parrot Bay and pineapple juice...aka pina colada on the rocks!
I am planning to plant some annuals around the front of our house. Not sure what yet because I am not sure what works best in our new climate. I am also going to do some planting inside...we are going to get a tree for our formal living room. Something like a palm or ficus. Again not sure exactly...we are planning to do some yard shopping this weekend.
A perfect day for a mojito on the roof deck! This weather had better be here for good. We do not have a garden, but I am planning on re-potting my giant indoor plant soon. Actually, I think it's a tree of some sort but its current pot is limiting its growth. Time to give this guy a new home.
I am sooo happy to be outside enjoying this weather! I think I'll take something fruity and girly, bartender's surprise.
I'm going to do some tomatoes and lots of annuals. We had a dogwood planted last summer, so I'm excited about seeing it bloom this spring and fill out more over the summer.
Loving this weather!!! I will have a margarita on the rocks with salt.
We have quite the immense gardening going - just flowers, trees, and lots of mulch. I do plan to grow a small veggie garden this summer too.
No vacay plans for us - boo! Hopefully we'll do a weekend away but not sure when.
It is an absolutely delightful day here in the East! Good idea opening up the bar, Joy!
I'll have a mojito with one of those little umbrellas please.
We are not taking a big vacation, but we do have a 2 night reservation at one of the most haunted bed & breakfasts in America. We are totally in to this whole ghost hunting thing. It's a place near Gettysburg, PA called the Cashtown Inn. We are totally psyched to go!
I will have some Sangria, too. (maybe we should get a pitcher!)
I have a brown thumb, and could kill a plastic plant. DH is in charge of our yard and the plantings around the house (inherited from the previous owners).
I have been going on a lot of "mini" trips, meeting my DH when he is away working (L.A. for a long weekend, NYC twice in the past two weeks) and New Orleans in May.
I'm still on the roof deck!
All of your vacation and gardening plans make me want summer even more!
