Silly question, I know. I've never stayed in a hospital overnight...is the food terrible? Can people bring you food? For some reason I did not want to ask about this at birthing class! We are going to South Shore. Thanks!!
I was at south shore and some things were good and some were pretty gross. My favorites were the French toast, greek salad, and the Buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. Honestly if it was offered I would have ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich for lunch and dinner each day I was there. Not exactly the healthiest things but they were restaurant quality in my book. You can certainly have someone bring you in meals. We did that one night where we got takeout.
I was at south shore also... and surprised at how good the food was. Chicken Cacciatore was my fav, and grilled cheese. Chicken noodle soup, not so great, it was like the Cambell's from when I was a kid, home sick. You can definitely have people bring stuff in. I kind of cheated the system and always ordered extra snacks (the cookies were yummy), and got more food than I could eat for breakfast so DH didn't have to pay for it at the caf. or somewhere else.
Re: Is hospital food gross?
Oh, they don't allow you to order DH his own? When my best friend had her baby at Melrose they could both order food.
Nope. The Cafeteria is close to the maternity ward, so he can go there to pick things up, but has to pay.
