Parenting after a Loss

Harmful to give baby Tylenol for several nights in a row?

Does there come a point where nightly Tylenol is a bad thing?  Granted, I know that I won't give DS Tylenol for months at a time... but his teething has been SO awful lately, and the teeth have yet to poke through. I'm worried this could go on for a while... and then, oh yeah, there's more teeth to come. Lovely. Anyway, I've given DS Tylenol the last 2 nights before bed (only half doses of .5ml instead of his normal dose of 1ml - figured I'd save the big guns for later on).  I hope I'm not a bad mommy for dosing my child so we both get some sleep Wink

  • If you were going to be giving it to him for weeks on end, it might give me pause.  But a few nights in a row when it's warranted is probably fine.  He will teethe for awhile, but babies go in and out of pain and not all teeth come through as painfully as others so I don't know that you'd be setting a precedent.  Have you tried the teething tablets?

  • I feel like I've seen the name on here before - what is a teething tablet? Seems like something I need to get.

They're homeopathic.  They are called Hyland's Teething Tablets.  No risk of overdose, they don't drug the baby, etc.  I know some people who swear by them and others who say they don't work at all.  Worth a try, anyway.  I think you can get them at CVS, but for sure at health food stores and Whole Foods.

  • Excellent. I found them on a website I swear by: https://www.allvitaminsplus.com

Free shipping and the cheapest cost of just about any kind of vitamin/mineral and homeopathic treatment I've ever found.

  • I would hold off on the Tylenol. DD teethed from 9 weeks to 4 months. I could see the teeth under the skin but it took about two months for them to break through. Teething can take a life time!!
