If you had a c-section, when did you start to notice bruising around your incision? Did it bruise immediately, or wait a few days?
I had surgery 1 week ago today, and today I noticed a lot of bruising around the top portion of my incision (it's vertical). It's also been weeping clear fluid quite a bit today, in that spot. I just want to make sure this is normal, and not the result of my doing too much.. I've had a busy weekend.

Re: C-Section Incision Bruising
I have no idea. But, SLOW DOWN! I just know that you have not been taking it easy.

hey congrats on the birth of your baby!!
Hmm.. My discharge orders said a little oozing was okay, as long as it was clear and didn't smell funny.. but I think you're probably right.. this probably isn't great. :
I am sad.. but I think we'll make tomorrow's visit a short one.
Thanks! I just want to eat her up!
congrats on your baby!!
Annie! Call your doc girlfrann! My incision never bruised, even when it was infected, but it did ooze (not clear though!)
If it is infected, don't stress out, some antibiotics should fix you right up. Just catch it NOW, because if you let it go, it might land you back in the hospital and we don't want that! Give the HH some smooches from me when you see him!
Bruising is not necessarily a problem. As I recall, you had a complication that required rapid delivery, correct?
My true emergency c/s bruised a lot, while my urgent/not emergency c/s didn't bruise at all.
I also had some weeping and bleeding from the incision this time around, which was not a problem - I was closed with glue. I had steristrips over my first c/s incision, so I wouldn't have noticed minor weeping.
Call the doc if you're concerned, certainly, but unless you're having pain, stinky, colored or excessive weeping, you're likely ok.
Take it easy. Be sure you're getting enough rest. You don't necessarily need to cut your visits to the NICU, but let your DH do the "work" with him, and you just sit and feed him, hold him an love on him.
