'Blue Shampoo' (NTTGPR)

Has anyone ever used it? Can you recommend a good one?

I just recently went platinum blonde.  I am already noticing brassy undertones.

Re: 'Blue Shampoo' (NTTGPR)

  • I'm really blond and my hair stylist recommends purple shampoo to counteract yellow & brassiness. I use Joico Color Endure Violet shampoo & conditioner & it works really well and smells great!

  • Awesome! Thanks!

I've heard horror stories of men and women with blue hair after using the toning shampoo too frequently... it scares me.  I think I'll use it two or three times a week.

  • I agree with pp, use purple or violet.  I am a hairdresser and I ave always liked Paul Mitchell's color shampoos.  If you use blue, your hair will turn green, so make sure you use a voilet based one.  If the shampoos don't seem to work, call the salon and ask them to put a toner on it.  They may have already done that, but sometimes it takes a few times to actually stick better.  Good luck!!
  • Just make sure you quit using it once your hair is the color you like. If you keep using it, it will turn completely white.

That's what I do and it's worked out just fine. I've heard those horror stories too, I can't imagine!

Thanks! My stylist used a high lift and no toner... I think this might be why the lowlights are a little bit yellow.

I will definitely invest in violet and not blue; green is not a flattering colour on me :)
