Easter Baskets

Are you making your LO an Easter Basket? I've thought about it but haven't done anything with the idea....

My baby is only 5mths but it would be a great tradition and a cute pic :)

What will you put in your Easter Baskets?

Re: Easter Baskets

  • I am making one out of thick/heavy felt.

I think I will buy him children's gardening tools (for which he could use in the sandbox) - I love to garden and hope he enjoys digging around in the dirt too!

  • Loading the player...
  • That's a cute idea :) Thanks, do you have a link or template for the basket ?
  • We bought Emily's from PotteryBarn Kids, complete with a personalized liner, for her 1st Easter when she was 7 months old so that we could use it year after year.

    Here's a pic from Easter 2009:

  • When I was a kid, I always got my swimsuit for the summer in my Easter basket, so that's what I do with DD.

You could put some jars of carrot babyfood in your baby's basket. ; )

  • Last year I put a teether, board book, and a cute bunny stuffed animal in DS Easter basket.  This year, I'm thinking some play-doh, coloring books and crayons.

  • Both will get one.  We gave DS one when he was 8 months old. DD will only be 4 months, but we are giving her a little one with a book, small toy, and maybe a piece of clothing?  Haven't thought it out yet, but I do have the basket.

  • So far DD's basket has some puffs, a couple of board books, a stuffed bunny, bubbles, and a little shovel and pail set for the beach this summer. I might put the bathing suit I bought in there too.

  • Yes. I bought him a basket and I'm putting some books, a small toy and a card in it.
  • Yes - haven't decided on a basket since we'd like to have one to use yearly (any suggestion?!).  I've gotten DD a stuffed bunny and a simple wooden bunny puzzle already, will probably add some bubbles for us to play with this summer and a board book - maybe max and the chocolate chicken.
  • Last year I ordered our son the small PB Kids basket and blue gingham liner with his name embroidered.  Its pretty cute.  He was about 10 months for Easter and not even crawling at that point, so we kept the Easter activities low key.  For his basket, I did things like cheap board books, socks, plastic eggs he could play with, and some bath toys.  No sweets - he wasn't ready at that age!

This year he will get one basket from me/my parents and it'll have similar things with maybe one small thing of cookies or something.

  • What about making a washcloth boo-boo bunny or boo-boo chick for the basket? Something that your LO can then have for years to come!
  • I'm not making the actual basket itself, but I am assembling it myself. I'm reusing their baskets from last year. I've never been a fan of store bought ones that comes pre-stuffed, plus I'm really trying to cut down on the amount of candy they get. I have no doubt they'll get a ton of candy from their school Easter party as it is.

My oldest is 4 so she'll get a new game for her Leapster. My youngest is 2 and loves Thomas so he's getting a new Thomas dvd. I'll probably throw in some crayons, workbooks, and other crafts stuff for them.  My kids love fruit so I'll stuff the Easter eggs w/dried fruits and nuts instead of candy.
