I need bottle help, ladies

Alright how did you switch to whole milk and get rid of the bottle.  I don't even know how to begin.

Re: I need bottle help, ladies

  • We found a sippy DS liked (we went through six), used it with milk at meals and snacks, and once he got that down, gave him the sippy with milk at bedtime.  It worked for us, but I know it is not that easy for everyone.

  • We found a sippy that he liked then slowly gave a sippy of milk for each bottle one sippy at a time.

Ex. Day 1 just replace one bottle

          Day 2 replace 2 bottles

    etc.

    Good luck!

  • She does well with the sippy, so that shouldn't be a problem.  But did you cut the bottles cold turkey?  And did you wait til after 12 months to introduce any milk?

  • We started milk right when he turned 1 and he took right to it.  We also stopped giving him bottles (so I guess cold turkey) and he couldn't care less.  Seamless!

  • We started mixing milk into his formula at 11 months and increased the milk/decreased the formula for a few weeks.  By 13 months, he was down to just 1 bottle of whole milk at bedtime and we eventually quit that cold turkey.
