Re: help! when should i worry???

  • could it be gas or constipation?
  • Loading the player...
  • try giving her a bath, warm water...try swaddling her...play some music maybe?....

but five hours is a long time.

Does she have a fever?.Try infant tylenol..If it last another hour I would call my pedi.

Sometimes babies just cry. That's why I posted the links to purple crying. If she has had all her needs met, is not running a fever, vomiting or otherwise exhibiting symptoms of illness, she may just need to cry.

  • she is eating fine, and to the person who mentioned purple crying---this is the first and only time she has EVER done this type of thing.?

  • My pedi said to call after 3 hours of inconsolable crying.
  • Call your pedi.  Ours wants us to call after 4 hours of inconsolable crying.  You'll surely feel better just having some assurance!

I was just putting it out there. A lot of people don't know about it and don't realize that there isn't always something wrong- sometimes it's just crying.

But I have a baby with colic so inconsolable crying is normal to me.

  • OMG, I didn't read this and just posted almost the same thing. Weird. I don't know what's going on either...but it's awful. If it were a weekday we would have gone to the doctor.
  • CALL.  Our pedi's rule is if mom is worried, they're worried enough to take the call at any hour.  It's most likely nothing at all, but why not be on the safe side and call in?
