Thimbles in Bham was going to have a basic bishop construction class on March 15 & 22. You have to have something pleated and smocked. I am almost finished smocking baby girl's coming home dress and was so looking forward to the class. Called today to make a reservation and they've cancelled them b/c there weren't enough people signed up.
I seriously might cry. ![]()
Re: Noooooooooo :o(
What places in Birmingham offer smocking classes?
I'd love to take one but the place in Tuscaloosa that offers them only does them during the week when I have to work or have other conflicts. I'd like to find one offered on the weekend.

Looks like the Bird has a bishop construction on 3/22 and 3/24:

Do you know who was teaching the class? If it was Vi, I bet she will help you complete it or maybe you could take it to one of the sit and sews. I think I am going to the one at the end of the month.
Yeah after I posted this I checked with the Bird and signed up for the March class. Thanks for the link though!!
The Smocking Bird in Homewood and Thimbles in Hoover offer classes. They usually offer an evening class so if you could get up here after work, you might be able to make it. I haven't noticed any on the weekends yet.
