I bought a bag of frozen peas that you can just steam in the bag they come in. I just microwaved them and then noticed on the package that the ingredients read "peas and salt."
Should I not use them b/c of the salt?

Apparently I would since I just noticed that those are the ingredients on the package I used to make his peas last weekend.
It didn't do him any harm this week, although in the future I will look for peas that do not contain salt, or I will buy them fresh and make them myself.
ETA: thanks for he heads-up, I probably would have never noticed.
ETA2: I would think that rinsing the peas in water would get off the majority of salt, then use water that they weren't cooked in to add to the puree.

Glad I'm not the only one! Guess I will use them instead of wasting them, and get something different next time. The baby food website mentioned cooking them in chicken stock and that contains sodium, so I guess a little is ok.

Heat releases plasticizers that leach into food, so you shouldn't cook any food in any type of plastic bag exposed to heat. I throw them in a microwave safe glass bowl and cover them with a plate. It takes the same amount of time.
Re: Those who make baby food--would you use these peas?
I agree with the pp. I feed dd green beans last night from a microwavable steaming bag. She loved them.
