HCG injects for DH?

Hi everyone,

 I was just wondering if anyone with MFI has had to do HCG injections? DH was just prescribed these today. I've heard great things about them, but he's nervous since it's intramuscular. Does anyone have experience with this?

    Never heard of it. But no reason to be nervous. I take IM shots every night. It doesnt hurt.

    My DH did HCG injections when we were first dx'ed.  They do leave the area a little sore and DH did experience mood swings.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    My DH was told that he will probably have to do these as well. We are waiting to get into a more specialized endocrinologist because his current endocrinologist doesn't prescribe hormone injections.
    After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011!

    My DH has been doing these for a few months and he has responded well to them and they usually don't hurt him much at all. The trick is to do it fast and I do all of them for him because he just doesn't do it fast enough and it hurts more. We do them right in the top of his thigh and they aren't too bad at all (and he has NO fat on his legs).

    He had a great response to them after not responding to oral meds. His testosterone went from the low 100s to somewhere in the 430s!
