Name - Angie

Due Date - 5/31

Date Placed on Bedrest - 23 weeks

Type - Home bedrest

Why ? short cervix

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are no longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?

Answer:

I really miss cooking and baking.  I look forward to taking walks, working in the garden and spending the week-end on the beach in Door County.

I can't wait for farmer's markets, strawberry and cherry picking.  I can't wait to go OUT to eat.  I'm excited to see my husband hold his sons,  and to see their little butts in all the cloth diapers I've become obsessed with.

I want to eat beer cheese dip and drink a pina colada! I can't wait to sleep in whatever position I please without pain! I also look forward to a friggin orgasm! ;)

Why ? herniated disks in back

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are now longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?

Answer:Well, it will be a little complicated, because my back won't be magically better.  I'll have at least 2 months of treatment to try and if that doesn't work, then surgery.  So the one thing I REALLY want to do is take a long walk through the woods...but not sure when that will happen!

I also want to be able to just do things....every day things like going to the store, farmers market, window shopping, whatever I want without weighing if I can sneak a short trip in without to many issues because of it.  I don't want to be on a timeframe and thinking about BR all the time.  If I want to browse at the mall, then just browse.

and yes, a pina colado would be amazing!!!  And a beer!

Updates: Not much here.  It's been pretty rough these last few days and it's starting to get to my DH.  Troy is going to have a meltdown pretty soon, so I need to get my head out of my butt and stop being such a crankpot!

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are now longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?

Answer:  I would really like to take my dog for a walk.  So, I'm excited for when LO gets here and we'll take the dog out together.

We usually spend the 4th of July on Cape Cod- and I've been thinking about that alot lately.  Whenever I feel down while on BR I just think about being at the beach with my new son.  And staring at the ocean- with a glass of wine.  I often wish that I could fast forward to that weekend.

Angie-  I seriously hear you on the orgasm.  Add that to my list too!!!!

Updates:  No updates here.  My sister is coming this weekend to visit- so that will be nice.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Answer:

Oh gosh, shopping! Working out, lunch with friends, sex with the hubby, organizing the house and nursery...

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are now longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?

I look forward to taking my dog for a walk and taking Maddy for walks too.  I miss my mountain bike.  I bought new bike righ before I was pregnant and rode it for a few weeks and fell in love with it.  My DH took the pedals off of it to keep me from riding,  boo!  A glass of wine would be nice too.  Some sushi or seafood sound delicious.  Since being pg I cannot stomach seafood.  I really look forward to being a mom and seeing my little girl mature.

No updates really. They will measure my cervix next week sometime.  I'm just hanging out.  So glad my DH figured out how to get the internet here!

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are now longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?Answer:  Mostly, I'm looking forward to holding my son.  I remember just staring at my daughter for hours on end when I first brought her home from the hospital, and I imagine doing the same thing with this baby!!  Also, I can't wait to go outside!!  I'm so glad that it will (hopefully) be summertime when I deliver so I can get out in the gorgeous sunshine and hopefully get some muscle back in my body!!  I can't wait to go on a date with my husband, and drink wine, and feel carefree again!  Lastly, I can't wait to cook for my family again!  It makes me giddy just thinking about all these things!  GREAT QUESTION!!Update:  Had my ultrasound yesterday to check cervical length, and we stayed the same as last week:  2.1, so that is really reassuring!!  It helps so much to have positive, or even neutral news.  I feel much better going into this week, and I'm on my way to 24 weeks, so we're making progress!!

QOTD: I need pampering! I know it will be hard to schedule, but I want a pedicure, massage, hair cut and color, and I want to be able to shave my legs again! Beyond that, I want to go to Target, and to organize the nursery myself, and generally just get my independence back. I don't mind being in bed all day since I don't have the stamina to do anything anyway, but I do mind not being able to do the things I want to do.

**GiGi - you must be from Wisconsin with that mention of beer cheese dip! sounds yummy. :)

  • Inle- yah der hey I'm from Wisconsin!  Around Christmas I had posted about Tom & Jerry mix and no one knew what I was talking about! I like to mix it with hot chocolate and didn't know if it was safe during pregnancy.  FYI- It's a frozen whipped egg white mixture with lots of sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.  It's traditionally served with hot water, brandy and rum.  I looked it up and I guess it's a Great Lakes region drink....

SLM05- I have an fFn monday too- here's hoping we're both negative!!!

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are no longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?Answer:Cooking, baking, and being able to go shopping!  Also being able to just take a walk around the neighborhood with my LO. I can't wait to drive again too! Going out to restaurants.  Getting a mani/pedi and a haircut out.Visiting family and friends and getting out of the house ofcourse! Having sex with my Dh! :) The #1 thing though is holding my little girl in my arms!!!Update-  Had my 1st internal Wednesday.  I was 1 cm dilated. Today I went for my bi-weekly NST and for once it was drama free.  Lily was very reactive and it only lasted 20 minutes!! YEAH!! If you have seen previous posts you may have seen the drama of my NST's lasting anywhere from an hour to 2 hours long. The doctor told me it's up to Lily when she wants to come now.  If she wants to come next week they are delivering me. Again could be a few more weeks though! DH is sweet though.  I told him to go to his parents on Sunday for his brothers birthday for a little while and I didn't mind.  He said "No WAY!! that's 45 minutes away and what happens if you go into labor!!"

Angie...My Mom makes a wicked homemade Tom & Jerry mix...If you are ever in N WI, you'll have to swing our way and have some.  It's to die for!  I don't think we are supposed to have it because the eggs aren't cooked, but it's probably not that big of a deal.

YUM! I've never made it homemade but I do buy it from a local bakery.  I ended up passing it up this Christmas but I love it! I'm always in N WI, my whole family lives in Rhinelander.

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are no longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?

Answer: I can't wait to be able to cook, clean, go to the gym, basically be able to take care of myself.  I have felt helpless and feel horrible for my husband who is dong it all from dishes, laundry, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and waiting on me hand and foot.

I also can't wait to meet these to precious girls that are growing so quickly inside and be able to finally hold them.

UPDATE: Well...I made it a week, last friday was when I was in the hospital having my surgery. So i'm blessed and thankful one week has past and the girls still remain strong and healthy inside my tummy.

Question of the Day:  What things do you most look forward to when you are no longer on bedrest/ when your LO (LO's) are here?

Answer: I feel like I've had plenty of time to think about this!!

    Real Raw Sushi

Wine, beer, any kind of alcoholic beverage!

    My parents Hot Tub

    Running

Moving out of the bed period!

My dog...get to see hubby but have to skype in when hubby is home to see our dog

Being such an independent person, having to have someone wait on me all the time is crazy annoying.

Cooking food I like...hospital food isn't that bad, but I want MY kind of food!!

Oh the list could go on and on!

I'm looking forward to getting LO home, getting our dog used to her and getting her out in the jogging stoller when she's big enough and enjoying the spring and summer outside!
