NBR: How much was your wedding ring? (now clicky)
One of my friends just got engaged the other night. She got a $10,000 Tiffany bubble ring. It's gorgeous, but man... I honestly would be afraid to walk around with $10,000 just hanging out on my finger. How much did your wedding ring cost? Just wondering if others think that's a little much or if I'm being conservative here 
ETA: I guess technically it's an engagement ring. I tend to use the two terms interchangeably

It's a 1 carat solitaire that I designed myself. Worth every penny!!
No engagement ring here. Wedding ring was 49.99 off of Amazon and I LOVE IT. It's a plain flat, unembellished, unbeveled tungsten steel band. It matches DH's ring, only not as wide.
It also makes a great puck for table top hockey while waiting for food to arrive when eating out.
$1800 for the engagement ring-vintage 1920's aquamarine/white gold/tiny diamonds.
and $65 for my wedding band-sterling silver from the New York Public Library online store.
Both exactly what I wanted.

Mine belonged to my dh's grandmother. She was also a redhead and they were childhood sweet hearts too.

But I will say that since DH designed mine and hunted out every diamond himself he saved a good amount of money. He paid about half of what he would have bought it for in almost any store by doing it this way.

FI didn't want to tell me how much my engagement ring was. But he did tell me it's "about as much as that rule", so i've assumed he means that "rule" where the e-ring is supposed to be worth his 3 months pay. Approx $3600, I think? Our matching wedding band set was $1200. All three rings are insured, of course.

I clicked "over $10,000" though technically DH didn't pay that much (and this is Canadian dollars, FWIW). We have a jewellery wholesaler in the family, so we got the ring much cheaper. But it's appraised at over $11,000. My wedding band was appraised at $3500, but we got it for $1000.
