Places to hold first birthday party

So, of course this is ending to be much more of a pain than it really needs to be.  Here is the situation.  DD's first birthday is on Easter Sunday.  Due to the holiday we are having just an immediate family gathering on that day, and having a friends and extended family party the following weekend.  The tricky part is that we live in a two bedroom townhouse.  We do not have enough room for a large party.  I don't want to hold the party at either grandparent's house's because I don't want to "show favortism" (yes I know it sounds stupid, but I don't want either set if parents thinking we like them better because we are having the party at their house.  And yes, one of the sets would totally think that!!)  I am looking for a place in the north metro (anywhere north of 94) that is mainly a party room.  We would like to bring in our own food if possible and we want to have fun decorating as well.  Can you wonderful mommies recommend a place that I can look in to?

 Thanks!

Re: Places to hold first birthday party

  • local community centers are probably going to be your only option as far as the bringing your own food thing goes.

and what area specifically? There's a lot of options if the only guideline is "north of 94". I'd love to help more, but that's a broad spectrum.

  • Maple Grove CC and Coon_Rapids CC are both nice places and decently priced. Andover Cinema has a party room, too.
