Babies: 3 - 6 Months

I primarily pump but supplement with formula and...

I only give LO a formula bottle at the end of the day to put him to sleep if I know he will only have an ounce or two.  Sometimes even a few days will go by where I do not give him any formula.  Well over the last week whenever I have given him the formula he spits it up almost immediately and will even have little white chunks.

He has had Enfamil Lipil with DHA since day 1 (started on it in the hospital) and has never had a problem.  I am curious if he could be developing an allergy to it or if he just doesn't like it and is too used to the breast milk.

I am calling his doc tomorrow but I was just curious if anyone has had to switch formula after LO being on a certain kind of formula for this long.

  • Have you considered trying a different version of the formula to see if you get the same reaction?  Maybe a sample of a different brand.  Also, maybe you could try giving the formula earlier in the day to see if it's the formula itself or the late night feed is the problem.  Maybe your LO has a bit of indigestion by the end of the night or is just full...it might be worth checking.

     I hope it works out!
