Did it cause or contribute to your loss?
Did you know about the disorder before getting pregnant? If so, were you being treated for the disorder while ttc and pregnant and with what?
What have you been told about trying again?
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
Re: If you have a clotting disorder
Did it cause or contribute to your loss? Yes, we lost Patrick at 17 weeks because they know for sure my APS was a secondary reason (if not primary reason, primary reason is considered unknown) because I threw a clot into my placenta and it caused it to stop growing which caused Patrick to pass away. They also believe it could be the reason for my early losses.
Did you know about the disorder before getting pregnant? If so, were you being treated for the disorder while ttc and pregnant and with what? Yes I knew before ttc because I have had a clot in the past and my ob is proactive. Treatment didn't start until pregnancy was achieved with heparin and now with lovenox
What have you been told about trying again? My ob and mfm believe I can achieve a safe pregnancy for both me and my baby. This says a lot because my ob is very sought after and his office (there are 6 obs there) can't take patients at times because they are too full; I'm his most high-risk patient in his office when it comes to pregnancy.
BFP #2- 1/5/10- Baby Jack born at 37w2d, 6lbs 13 oz, 8/24/10
BFP #3- 7/30/11- Baby Boy Due April 3, 2012
I have Factor II gene mutation. I don't think it contributed to my loss. I knew about it before we got pregnant (blood clot at 21). I am treated while TTC with coumadin on the stipulation that as soon as I get a 2nd line i'll switch to lovenox.
Being on coumadin while TTC, some are opposed to it, but my hemetologist said as long as I'm off by 6 weeks everything should be good.

Yes. I have Factor V Leiden
Did it cause or contribute to your loss? No it did not contribute to either loss
Did you know about the disorder before getting pregnant? Yes, I've known for about 8 years.
If so, were you being treated for the disorder while ttc and pregnant and with what? Yes, I always take baby aspirin and when I get PG I start lovenox. I have a box of it at home ready for the next BFP.
What have you been told about trying again? That I will need to take lovenox.
