- I remember going to see Signs with a good friend. We sat close to the front of the theater and were so freaked out during that scene in the basement when everything goes dark that we were practically in each other's laps! LOL. Screaming like little girls. My friend kept saying, "Ok, I want to go now." LOLOL.
- I remember being like 15 years old and borrowing my mom's dual tape set of Gone With The Wind and going next door to my BFF's house and watching the whole thing together with popcorn.
- There was one summer where my sister and I watched Aladdin every single night. You know, its summer - you are too young to be out but don't want to go to sleep early since you don't have to? We were in middle school. We would heat up hot chocolate and watch Aladdin and we memorized the WHOLE movie. All of it.
Fun times.

My very first "date" in 6th grade with a boy named Adam... we went to see "What about Bob"... the 3 snotty popular girls from my school happened to be there and were making fun of us the whole time, throwing popcorn at us! It was humiliating!!!
I went to see "Sweet Home Alabama" with my friend Mandi and there was a lady behind us who was talking during the entire movie, so we "shushed" her a few times! At the end, the woman came over to us and told us the reason she was talking was because her daughter was hearing impaired and needed help knowing what was happening. That would have been fine, except the woman was SO rude and then began to yell at us that she hoped when we have children they have a disability too so we'll know how rude we were being!! WTF?! She followed us out in the parking lot and 1/2 way home!! It was pretty crazy!
I don't remember what we were seeing, but one time at the theater, it was dark and my mom accidentally sat on the cupholder instead of the seat, squishing the diet coke cup that was there and completely soaking her a$$. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life.
Eventually, when I stopped laughing, I did help her get to the bathroom and she stood with her ass to the hand dryer for twenty minutes until her pants dried.

I get SO annoyed when people talk during movies, too. How were you supposed to know that her daughter was hearing impaired?!
LOL, Eli, I can picture you and your mom doing that.
This isn't really my fondest memory, but I just remember how hard it was to get good seats. My friends and I loved going to the movies on opening nights and it was so hard to find seats together so we'd end up split up and running around the movie theater to catch up with each other.
I'm so glad Cinebistro is around now - reserved seating, drinks, food, and no one under 21! Awwww, it doesn't get better than that!

I loooooove the Cinebistro! My friends and I are stalking their website to see when tickets for the Eclipse premiere are coming out. I'd love not to have to deal with the screaming tweens. 21 and up, baby!

That's pretty funny.
Ok, movies that will never be the same to me.
Chucky--My cousins were sleeping over my house and I wanted to see the movie. My parents didn't give me permission but I sneeked out of bed to watch it. OMG!!! The worse idea ever. There were several sleepless nights. I remember after the movie wanting to get rid of all my BIG dolls. CREEPY movie!! That and Freddy. I can't watch those movies.
Pretty Woman--I saw this movie and loved it. I still do. This is my all time favorite chick flick.

I felt the same way. For the longest time I felt like all my dolls were just staring at me. Before bed everynight I used to put all my dolls in the closet and "lock" it with a ponytail. To this day I cannot see a Chucky doll because it creeps me out.
My two all time favorite movies are Dirty Dancing and Grease. When I was little my brother and I used to reenact the dance sequence at the very end. He used to lift me up in the air and everything. It must have been quite a show to watch LOL.

Hilarious!! Your poor mom. Those hand dryer's at the movie theater's are so bad. I normally just end up air drying my hands.

Oh my word! Chucky was sooo scary - I remember after watching that movie, being freaked out by sister's Cricket doll. Early the next morning that darn Cricket doll was sitting in a chair talking. Both me and my sister screamed like crazy. Come to think of it - I wonder if my parents set us up?!
Okay - my favorite movie memories - The Never Ending Story. I would watch this movie every single day over and over again. Loved it!
I cry for all movies. The biggest tear jerker I can think of right now is Stepmom...that whole line when Julia Roberts says something along the lines of, "on her wedding day....I'm scared that she'll be wishing you were there instead of me.." and Susan Sarandan responds, "...I'm scared that she won't."...wahhhh
Another memory - we were in NY and were going to watch Lord of the RIngs, not sure which part - but the theater was packed. ANd this one girl was holding an entire row of seats for her friends. Everyone who tried to sit there would be turned away. MH made a big commotion about it telling her she can't do that - first come first serve and who does she think she is. We shoved our way past her and everyone in the theater gave us a standing ovation! Her friends winded up being at least 15 minutes into the movie.
My very first date ever, we went to the movies. I brought along a friend, and he brought a long a friend. My mom tagged along too, but she sat at the very back of the theater and didn't bother.
The movie - Friday. All I remember of the movie is my mom's laughing hystercially all throughout the movie! I was thinking "how embarrassing!" even though my date and friends didn't know it was her. I kept sinking in the seat whenever I heard her. LOL

I went to see the first Harry Potter movie on Opening Day with a group of coworkers. We get to the theater with our tickets in hand, only to find out that the power was out in the building and they weren't letting anyone inside. People were banging on the doors. I thought a riot was going to break out. Then the power came back on and everyone starts stampeding through the doors. One of my coworkers got knocked down. Thankfully she wasn't trampled. It was nuts!
It was that experience that has turned me off of seeing a movie on Opening Day ever again.
oh god this is going to sound like a confession in Seventeen! lol
in 9th grade I was obsessed with a guy named Cliff...he was gorgeous!! He still is too Anyway he worked at the movies so guess where I parked myself every weekend Needless to say my friend and I went to see some movie and her mom came with us. I went and put my big girl panties on and marched up to order popcorn from him...just so I could speak to him and my friends mom comes up from behind me and says "Are you ordering the large?"
My middle sister was obsessed w/ movies! It was crazy. When she was like 3 or 4, the obsession was with Peter Pan. She knew how to pop it into the VCR and rewind and play it. No joke she would watch it like 6x a day! She was glued to the TV.
Then, when she got older, the obsession switched to Edward Scissorhands! Strange movie for an 6-7 yr old to be watching! It got so bad, my mom had to record it and then should would play it non-stop. We have photos of her laying on the floor mesmorized to either movie.
Everytime I hear those movies, I think of my sister and her sillyness.
