Parenting after 35

Another 6 month update

Well Vivianna went for her 6 month appointment a couple of weeks late due to our travels. She weighed 14 pounds 8 ounces and was 26 inches long. The pedi was happy with everything said she is doing great and that however we are handling the foods it seems to really be working well for her so just continue. She did fine with her shots until bedtime and suddenly her legs must have gotten sore because she started screaming and the screaming got worse when we would move her legs. It took 30 minutes, some Tylenol and lots of rocking to get her to calm down.

For those of you have been introducing food, have you done meat? We have done cereal fruits and veggies but not meat.

Re: Another 6 month update

  • Yay for the growing! And sorry about the shots.

Haven't tried meat yet. He seems happy enough right now with his veggies and cereal. Will try fruit next, then maybe some ground up chicken or turkey.

  • Glad everything went well.

We haven't tried meat yet. I think I'm going to hold off longer. She really enjoys her fruits and veggies.

  • Sounds like V is doing well! Sorry about her little legs though. Funny, my flu vax this year were a real eye-opener for me. Those things hurt for days after! Our poor babes :(

No meat yet. Pedi said it was OK so we don't have a good reason for not introducing it yet.

  • we waited to introduce meat until around 9 months (that is what our pedi told us). She really only likes turkey and it has to be mixed with veggies.

sorry to hear she was sore after the shots! hopefully all is better now.

  • Hi wow Callie and Vivianna are very close in age, Callie was born 8/20. looks like Vivianna is thriving well!
  • No but I was wondering the same thing. We have really only done veggies so far. I plan to start fruit the next time I get to the grocery store.

Yesterday I made butternut squash, sweet potato & reg potato & pureed for her. I think I made enough of it to feed all your babies. LOL . I did freeze most. She seemed to like it.

  • Dog Way to go V.  so sorry to hear about the lingering shots pain.

Can V sit up on her own yet?  just wondering.  mine is almost 6mos.

  • Yay for her doing so well!  The screaming must've sucked, I'm sorry you went through that!
