I posted this on my local board but thought I'd ask you all too...do you think you remember childbirth clearly?
I don't remember it being that bad...DH is apparently terrified of going through it again. I mean it hurt but not as bad as kidney stones and the epidural was magical! DH can't even talk about labor because he is so nervous...he keeps commenting how he should stay home and help my dad with DD or he wishes he could just sit in the waiting room...lol..he swears I just don't remember it right. He is a big sissy about blood and hospitals so i think he's just overreacting.
Re: 2nd time moms, childbirth amnesia?
I have it. My DD was an emergency C-section. I remember getting wheeled into the oporating room and I remember her being born. The next thing I remember is being in the recovery room. How I got there and how long everything took are complete mysteries
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
This is the same for me.
I remember most of childbirth, but I had a very easy labor. I never felt one contraction-I couldn't even tell you what one feels like.
I am nervous going into this next birth because I am afraid it will be difficult. I am more nervous about this then bringing the baby home.
I totally have newborn amnesia too, and my son is not even a year!
as soon as active labor with #2 started it allllllll came rushing back to me!! ha! Thats when i cried ...?
;0)?
This. Minus the poop :P
