Thank you ladies. I really dont want to take any medicine because Im pregnant. But the tea sounds super good. I have been resting all day, but cant sleep because its hard to breathe. Anyway, thanks for the advice.
Anything with steam works for me -- showers, hot tea, miso soup. It temporarily makes me feel good and gets rid of at least some of the stuffiness.
I have friends who swear by the Neti Pot. I'm afraid to try it, but they say it really helps.
I have heard of these neti pots, but never knew what they where until I checked out that link. Anyone know where I could find one? Rite Aid? Walgreens?
Ahhh the neti pot! I was scared as anything when I tried one when I was pregnant with my first, but it does help!! I just used mine again this past week since I too am pregnant and battling a cold. Yes, you can get them at Rite Aid, Walmart, anywhere mainly. Don't remember the exact aisle, but in the stores I've seen they're always on one of the top shelves. And you need to use distilled water too-so I'd grab a bottle of that too. It's not bad at all-shocking at first, but really not bad.
The only other thing I do is a spoonful of honey with lemon juice for a sore throat. Not a permanent fix, but it helps and tastes great!
Re: Cures for the common cold?
my grandma's cure for anything was hot tea with no milk and toast.
