3rd Trimester

Anyone still working out?

I'm almost to the third tri and my regular workout seemed a lot more difficult this morning...made me wonder how long I'll be able to keep working out...right now I run on the elliptical for an hour and do weights for another 20 mins...what is everyone else doing? I'm just wondering if I had an off day or if eventually I'll have to stop all together. Thanks!

Re: Anyone still working out?

  • I do 30 minutes of cardio (treadmill or elliptical) and then 20-30 minutes of weights. I'm trying to do this 3x a week.

  • I've been walking for about 45 min in the morning when I get a chance and prenatal yoga every night.
  • I am hoping that today my OB will clear me to work out again!!!!  I feel like a bump on a log!!!!

For pretty much the bulk of 2nd tri and until now I have done nothing!  :(

  • I'm still working out daily. Everyday I'm on the elliptical for 45minutes. One day a week I do prenatal yoga. Two times a week I do prenatal pilates. Two times a week I lift weights.

  • I'm still keeping up with my normal routine, although the big hills in my neighborhood have slowed me down a tad. Wink
  • I have cut back to a 30 minute walk everyday and using the stair stepper. I get tired a lot quicker but I feel better after.
  • I've only done 30-45min cardio throughout my pregnancy, but after I got to 3rd tri, there have been a lot of days I just lacked the energy to do it after getting home from work.  Great if you're able to continue but don't feel bad if you have to cut back or quit altogether.

  • I get to the gym about 3-5 times a week and do the elliptical for 45 minutes and then light resistance training for 20-30 minutes.  I have slowed down my intensity on cardio due to some BH contractions if I push myself too hard.
  • I still work out 6 days a week, and some days it's a lot harder than others! I plan to keep it up until D Day!
  • I still work out, maybe 2-4 times a week, 30-40 minutes on the elliptical or bike. Nothing too crazy.

  • I am but I've cut out weights about 4 weeks ago so I only do cardio which is either the elliptical or treadmill for about 45-60minutes every other day.  I also walk around my building up and down four  flights of stairs for the last half of my lunch every day.  Anything to get my body moving is all  Smile

  • I walk on an incline 45 mins 3-5x a week and do some light arm weights 2-3x a week.  I was jogging up until last week when I started getting a really bad pain around my belly button.  The midwife said it's probably my abdominal muscles separating Indifferent which I guess is normal, but I hate that it killed my previous workout.

  • I get to the gym 3-4 times a week for 35 mins of elliptical (usually intervals high/low crossramp at a 10-12 resisitance) and then about 25 minutes of weights.  I was running 3 miles 4 times a week until week 30 when I started having extra ligament pain and decided to stop.  I also take the dog for a 3 mile loop around my neighborhood on weekend days as well, trying to encourage LO to get ready to come out!
  • I do a prenatal DVD twice a week, 30 minutes on the elliptical twice a week, and walk three miles on the weekend. I stopped running a few weeks ago because it was just getting uncomfortable, and I had to stop doing the recumbent bike because my knees were banging into my belly!

  • I do about half hour of light cardio (walk or eliptical) and half hour of light weights about 3 times a week. It feels so much better to work out than to sit around waiting for this baby! I remember getting really winded around 32 weeks though but it got better.
  • I go to the gym every day, sometimes twice (more of a time thing... cardio in the morning and weights at night).

I lift, do intervals, and use my kettlebells.

  • I'm not really in the 3rd tri until tomorrow, but I'm going to the gym about 3x/week and doing 30 mins on the elliptical, then 10-15 of light lifting.

I was going 4-5x/week and my energy is starting to fizzle out by the end of the day. I also hate it b/c I have to pee every 10 minutes and find myself getting off the elliptical mid-workout.

  • I do a prenatal DVD 2-3 times a week and I only go the gym about twice a week now where I just walk on the treadmill.  I actually hate going to the gym now because all of the other cardio equipment is too uncomfortable and then when I try to do light weights I get dumb comments from people.  I prefer to work out at home these days!  Working out has been a challenge lately because I am going through a phase where I feel so exhausted, but I've been trying to push through it.  Light cardio does wonders for my mood.
  • I'm still running 3-4 miles six days a week. Sometimes I do another 15 minutes or so on the elliptical. I totally slack off on my lifting while pregnant, though.

  • I still work out. I actually started working out in my 2nd trimester. I do 30 minutes of cardio(elliptical, treadmill or bike) and 30-45 minutes of weights twice a week and I also do yoga twice a week. Im really considering adding another day to my work out schedule because on the nights I work out I sleep so well.
