So I got a positive HPT this morning, and I was on cloud 9, and still am.
But I found out Kathy Sloan, the midwife I had researched and really wanted to use, isn't in my insurance network (of course the one thing I didn't check), and I would have to pay a lot more out of pocket. Can anyone recommend a midwife in the Towson area? I also wanted to be able to go to Mercy for L&D because I had heard great things, but at this point, I guess I'm open to suggestions. TIA!

Re: Midwife help
First, CONGRATS!
Second, I used to work for an OB who delivered at Mercy. Here is the page that lists all the midwives there. Of course recommendations go a long way, but at least you can see if any accept your insurance. The patients in our practice seemed to love delivering! HTH!
Thank you. I got really frustrated the other day when I was trying to find a doctor. I was hoping I could get an order for a bloodtest to confirm the HPT, but I ended up just giving up. At Kathy Sloan's office they told me that St. Joe's has good midwives, so I did a little research and called them. They take my insurance, and I ended up getting an appt with them. I was going to request a specific midwife, but it worked out that I got her anyway! So I have my first appt on 3/10 with a nurse in the office to do all the background and such (I guess) and they said she would send me for a bloodtest. So now I wait.
Congrats! I used the Midwives at St. Joseph's and LOVED the experience! The practice is called Women's Health Associates

It's located on York and Stevenson. There are five midwives in the practice, you can either special with one or work with all of them.
Good luck with everything.
