need prayers please

Ok... so I have a 5 yr old from a previous relationship, it was a very low time in my life and I was not with the right person... needless to say he is a worthless excuse for a dad. He leave my baby alone with strange men, plays hide and seek from the police, has a drug addict living with him and his girlfriend in their one bedroom apartment, and the list could go on and on and on. He is the most selfish person that I know and doesnt think about anyone else. He gets mad and yells and cusses and screams when my DD is sick because it messes up his schedule. He is a waiter at Chilis and has no plans for his life and works nights.

 

So here is the deal. I have filed to modify the custody order because of many things listed above. He doesnt have the means to care for a child, can barely make child support, and she balls her eyes out when she is there fore 2 nights. We are meeting with the attorney tomorrow and he just informed me that his mother will be there with him, who can not stand me and will do anyhting to make my life a living hell. She doesnt give a rats butt about my daughter and even my ex says that all the time, but she will put up a good front tomorrow... I dont even think I can be in the room with her.

 

Please pray that we can get a modification, because the State of Texas does not care about our kids. If she wants to play sports or do anything on the weekend and he wont bring her, TOUGH for her. If there is a birthday party or a church event during one of his visits and he wont bring her, her loss. How is this fair. How is it fair to tell a child they cannot be like any other child in their class because their dad is selfish? UGH anyway... Thanks for letting me vent. I dont have any girlfriends close by and my poor husband just doesnt get what I am going through and I cant take much more stress... ugh

    I know you will do great!  Hang in there.  My brother is going through a situation but nothing like yours.  His son cries every time he has to leave his house to go back to his mothers.  I will be praying for y'all.

    I hope you get your modification, but this is a strong statement to make. I personally have seen many parents who have filed for modifications get them when the situation puts a child at risk.

     Can I ask what you base this statement on, a previous custody agreement possibly?
