Reflux/Sleeping ?

We don't co-sleep with DS, but he is in a cradle next to our bed.  He has reflux, and I have a hard time getting him back in his cradle after nighttime feedings, due to the perfectly flat cradle mattress.  We have a sleep wedge that will work in his crib and that came highly recommended, but I am hesitant to move him to his crib so soon.  (Due to space constraints, we can't set up the crib in our room.)  I was just wondering what other AP parents with reflux babies do as far as sleeping.  Most nights I end up sleeping with him on my chest, which I know is not "safe" co-sleeping.  Every once in a while he will sleep on the boppy next to me, but that is hit or miss.  Neither he nor I are sleeping very well right now, and I don't really know what to do at this point.

Re: Reflux/Sleeping ?

  • I spent many nights propped up on several pillows with Ari on my chest. When things were really bad that's the only way I could get him to sleep.

Laying on their left side is also supposed to be helpful. After nursing I would lie him on his left side & face him. It's almost as good as tummy sleeping for positioning but safer from a SIDS/suffocation aspect.
