XP: Day One of Bedrest...

Warning....LONG and probably TMI.

It's been an eventful few days for us.  This whole pregnancy, I have had high BP and have been on meds for it.  I had been doing so well until last Monday...it started creeping up, 130/90, then Thursday it was 140/90.  Friday night I started to get a dull headache and my right foot swelled for the first time.  I just didn't feel well.  DH and I went to Rite Aid to take my BP at the machine there and it was 170/100 three times I took it.  Called the on call doctor and they had me come to L&D.  Three hours after that, we walked out and went home.  They monitored the baby and me, took my BP, urine, and then did an ultrasound on my right leg as they thought I could have a blood clot, which I did not.  They told me to follow up with my own doc on Monday.  Ah, at least we got a dry run out of it.  I essentially put myself on bedrest all day Saturday, didn't sleep at all Saturday night, and then Sunday we attended our 9 hour childbirth class....nothing like last minute!

Sunday night into Monday, I did not sleep.  I had menstual like cramps all through the early morning hours and dull lower back pain.  I went into work like normal and had the same symptoms all day long but luckily, I had an easy schedule yesterday.  I have been working each day for the last few weeks like it is my last....just in case. 

I had a doctor's appt around 5pm so DH and I went to that.  We get biophysical profiling ultrasounds twice a week now because of my BP so first we saw LO and she performed well for the tests.  Next we saw the doc and my BP was 150/100.  Doc came in, I told her I had lost my MP and was very crampy, she ordered a bunch more blood tests for possible pre-e and said I was now 2CM and 80%.  She said, you aren't still working are you?  She said I had to immediately stop and let my body rest as she feels if I do that, I will go into labor on my own in the next few days.  If not, she is setting up induction for next Thurs. at 39 weeks 1 day.  They will not let me go to my due date.  Funny thing is that next Thurs. was our original due date! 

DH and I kinda looked at each other as we did not anticipate her saying this.  I can't believe we could have a child in the next few days...it's becoming so real!  I am really hoping to go on my own and avoid induction, if at all possible.  I have been up all night with cramps and backache again.  I am not sure how long this bedrest will actually last as I feel like LO could come really soon....or maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.  Send any labor dust my way please!!!!
