Nurseries and Baby Gear

Any one else procrastinating like me??

I have about 7 1/2 weeks to go, and we've painted the nursery but that's about it!  We also still have a queen-sized bed in there that I keep bugging DH to move it over to his mom's basement. I have 2 showers coming up this weekend and next weekend, so I'm hoping once I get some fun items, then I can get my butt into gear!  But realistically, all a baby needs is a boob/bottle, clothing, and somewhere to sleep right?

Anyone else like me???

I'll probably make you feel better. LOL our nursery not even near to being complete (not even painted)

so what we did since we could not afford a crib at the time (or even had the room ) we git a bassinet,

really all you need for a baby is diapers, a siurce of food, clothes and a place to sleep.

the nursery can wait. relax, enjoy your last couple of weeks as a couple :)

  • I am a cautionary tale. I still don't have my nursery "done." Waiting for valance to come in (backordered) need one more picture, and I want a canopy and a new light fixture.

Don't be like me. Pick one day, make it Nursery Day and do everything you can. Once baby arrives you will have no time!

  • Yes, I'm terrible!

We have the closet finished, painting done, and the furniture assembled. I still need to decide on decoration, curtains, etc. but I feel like I can't do that until we know the layout of the room. We need to order the glider so we can decide on the layout. :-)

I need to get on the ball!

  • I am right there with you.  We are hoping to pain the room this weekend and put the unassembled crib together.  Time is just flying by!

  • I'm 35 weeks and have lost all my motivation to get the nursery together. The room was already painted, we just chose bedding to match so if it wasn't for that, I'd probably be in the same boat. I still have all kinds of stuff to do though... hang decorations, wash clothes, organize all the misc crap, hem drapes and many many more. I'm a huge procrastinator. Hoping to have energy this weeekend.

  • Me too. And it's sending me into nervous fits. I want it to be DONE, but pregnancy has made me the most indecisive person on the planet, so even once I make a decision, I go back on it and then think for weeks. Ugh.

The room is painted, the crib and changing table are put together and ready, and I made the crib skirt last night. Still need to order the rocker, find bins for the changing table, DH is putting the base trim up this weekend, I have to seriously organize the closet and do baby laundry, and put up all the decorations. UGH, stressful!

  • Major procrastination and I have TWO rooms to do!  DD1 is moving into the spare bedroom/home office and her smaller room will become the nursery.  My mom bought my bedding set because it was on sale and they only had 3 left in the store, and I've picked up a few small wall decorations.  I did finally pick a paint scheme last weekend.  We don't have a crib, dresser, anything except the PnP/bassinet I got from a friend before Christmas.

We both work FT, so the weekends are all we have, but a lot of them are eaten up with running errands and Girl Scout activities.  We've also waited to see what we might get as gifts (looking like nothing at this point - no shower) and whether any of my maternity leave will be paid.

Budgeting sucks when you want to decorate!!!!!

  • We just moved into our first house at the end of January so we don't even have the room cleaned out!!  I was sick when we moved so the baby's room became the room for whatever we didn't know where else to put!  My husband is back in school during the day and working at night so as far as moving boxes...I can't and he is never home.  To top EVERYTHING off, our house was robbed Friday night and so all of our free time has been devoted to replacing our things and filling out police/insurance forms.  I have little freak outs but then I read these messages and I feel better =)
  • I have everything for the room, but refuse to have anyone put the crib, dresser, nightstand and bookshelf together. I just cant bare to see the crib empty for 2 months with out a little one in it. But my DH, has decided this is the weekend he will paint and start putting things together. I guess I have to start doing my part and start openning boxes and start organizing the babies stuff.
