High blood pressure?

I went to the OB yesterday for my 37 week appt., and my blood pressure reading was 132/93, which concerns me because I'm usually on the lower end when it comes to blood pressure.  I asked the OB specifically about it, and she didn't seem worried.  I also put on 8 pounds in 2 weeks, and my ankles and fingers are ridiculously swollen.  She made no mention of the urine dip test showing any protein.

With DS, they became worried and put me on bedrest at 37 weeks when I put on 5 pounds in a week and my blood pressure was at a similar level.  At that point they ordered a 24 hour urine test, which came back at about 240. 

Would you call today and ask about doing a 24 hour test?  Or if I should be taking it easier (I am still at work)?  Or just wait and see what the BP reading is next week at my regular appointment?

    I would definitely ask about doing a 24-hour test. Better to be safe than sorry. Can you test your BP at home so you can compare it with the office number?

    Hi Jen -

    I am similar to you...my BP is normally around 110/70 range...at 35 wks my bp was 135/90 and they found protein in my urinne sample. They immediately gave me the 24 hr urine collection to do that next day. THankfully it came back ok...but they are monitoring me for Preg Induced Hypertension and possible PreE. I go in once a week for BP checks in addt to my regular Dr's appt.

    I would def call your dr and tell them you would be more comfortable if they tested you with the 24hr collection. Better to be safe then sorry!!!

    Thanks, ladies.  I called and apparently the doctor wanted my blood pressure rechecked before I left the appointment, but no one ever told me that.  Headed back in now.  Sigh.
