We started our childbirth classes last night. I have to say, we enjoyed it! Last night was mostly just an overview of things but we did get some useful info & watched a video about 3rd tri (Pregnancy for Dummies video, lol!).
The instructor is a 23yr L&D nurse. The classes offered at the hospital are taught by nurses taht have never worked in L&D before. A bunch of doctors didn't like what was/wasn't being taught & asked her years ago if she would do a class. Together with the docs, they put together the 4 sessions to cover everything they felt you really should know before going into labor. She's really laid back & fun which makes the class itself go by quick.
Next week we have to take in a pillow & blanket because we'll work on lamaze & talk in depth about what might happen in the delivery room.
Re: 1st night of birthing class - Good time
I'm glad you liked your class!
We are going this weekend for an "intensive" two-day class and I'm looking forward to it
