2nd Trimester

What is your LO wearing home from the hospital??

Are you doing/buying anything special?

Since DH is a martial arts instructor and its pretty much our life and lifestyle I am sewing a tiny pink gi (martial arts kimono and pants uni) for Mikayla to wear home. I don't think DH could be more excited!

Re: What is your LO wearing home from the hospital??

  • I"m not buying anything special. After the shower I'll pick a onesie that's comfy and cute.
  • Loading the player...
  • Just a sleeper/sack thingy. The trip home isn't really a big deal for us, since we won't be at the birth center very long anyways.
  • I haven't got a clue yet! I'm sure once we find out the sex of LO, I'm going to go on a shopping spree! :o)

  • A onesie or bubble outfit since the avg. temp in our area in July is 80-90 degrees. Though at the moment I am looking forward to any kind of warm weather!

  • The take home outfit will just be something comfy but I am trying to find a really cute outfit, hopefully blue or blue and white, for the hospital photos :)
  • I think we'll just pick the cutest outfit that we have at the time we go to the hospital. Something we got as a present, or bought ourself.. just as long as it's cute :P

I actually just heard last night that the gowns aren't the best idea since you'll need to put their carseat buckle between their legs.  Just thought I'd throw that out there!

I'll be buying something, but I haven't started looking yet.  Some sort of kimono-style top & bottoms :)

That's adorable!!! If I tried to sew anything, it would probably become a mess of massive proportions. Being July, he'll probably be in a onesie and not much else :D

  • Cute! I'm not sure if it is the wisest thing, but I have the cutest dress I want to bring Sophia home in...It is cotton, so I think it'd be comfy enough?

Meh. Not worried about it. By that logic, you should never put a newborn girl in a dress cause the buckle goes between their legs then. I'm sure LO will be fine.
  • No freaking clue. I probably won't pick that out until I am packing my own stuff for the hospital.

  • It's been tradition that my Grandma has always bought a fancy dress her granddaughters to come home in (there are 5 of us girls) and she is also doing that with the great granddaughters. So she will go and find a frilly dress that she will come home in. If it were up to me it would just be a little onsies or something simple but tradition is also fun! :)
  • With my oldest DD I dolled her all up (nov in se tx is still warm) in a dress with matching shoes and hat.... lol

  • I have an adorable little dress that I want her to wear, but I'm concerned about her belly button. I think a dress is better than a onesie though. I dont think they can wear onesies until the belly button falls off.
  • Just a onesie. It's darn hot here in June.
  • ditto this.

This! I'm in love with anything puppy right now! :)
  • I haven't thought much about it yet  :o(  I better get on it!
  • My mother stioll has the outfit I wore home, so size gtranting I will hope she can wear that as well!
  • I recently purchased the cutest onsie with a pair of  plaid shorts for Jaylen to come home in. I also will be bringing another outfit because it's a military hospital so they will be taking photos for the family to see online, just like they did for Aiden when he was born.

  • My husband bought a cute sleeper that is yellow, orange, green and white with little ducks on it and duck faces on the feet...I was so surprise that he bought that so early (I was 10 weeks!) so I have to let baby wear it, it is too cute :-)
  • here's our plan-

blue for boy, yellow for girl- with a hair band if we can :)

    Blue
    Yellow

  • My MIL still has the outfit that DH wore home, so hopefully that! (Although I haven't seen it yet lol!)

  • Both will be wearing white cotton onesies.

Pink hat and pink trumpettes for her

Blue hat and blue trumpettes for him

  • No clue yet, but now that we know the sex, I am soooo excited to go shopping!! For DD, my sister gave us an outfit specifically for going home in, which was really sweet, but I was a little bummed not to pick it out myself. (But it wasn't a huge deal, and I didn't want to hurt her feelings.) So I'm looking forward to picking this one out myself!

Also, DH and I are little (5'3" and 5'2") so DS will likely be little like DD was - so I'll probably get a preemie-size outfit. DD's NB outfit was HUGE on her! LOL

  • At Christmas, my mum took the results of the sex portion of our CVS. I had purchased 2 outfits (boy and girl sleeper) and we opened the little boy outfit on Xmas Eve. DS will be wearing that outfit home from the hospital. I have the outfit DS wore home in his memory box and I wanted a special out for #2 as well.

But a dress you can pull up and get the buckle in between her legs.  A sleep sack is sewn shut at the bottom, so that won't work.

  • If I can find one small enough, a UK basketball jersey (preferably a #15) and once again, if we can find it, a little white headband (we're sports people at my house......and clearly DeMarcus Cousins fans!!!)

  • Nothing special. It'll just be DH and I with her... so it would feel anti-climatic to dress her up only to go home and take it off again for comfort's sake.  hehe

I'll probably put her in a cute Carter's onesie or something. Maybe stick a bow on her head. :P

I most look forward to the first time we take her to church.

  • I have a cute little Carter's outfit to put her in. Brooke didn't have a coming home outfit... well, the thing I brought was 0-3 months and she wore NB until 6 weeks... so I want to do it right this time!
  • My mom had saved the dress I was brought home in the hospital in, so we'll use that again like we did for DD.

  • Am I the only one that doesn't see the big deal in a "coming home" outfit? Huh?

Whatever we happen to have at the hospital will be just fine with me.
