A) The night before I got my BFP I went out drinking. (i'm sure baby really liked that shot of cinnamon whiskey) I really didn't think I was pregnant, when af didn't show up the next day I decided it was time to test.
I started working out before I ok'd it with my dr. and when I talked to him he said no since I hadn't previously been.
C) I took a Prilosec the other day for my heartburn. I swear my GP said it was ok. but I just went to the safe meds site and it said it wasn't.
D) I just put a heating pad on my stomach to ease some cramps and found out I shouldn't have it on high.
I know there have been others but that's all I can think of for now.
Grrr.... Does it ever get any easier???
Re: I feel as though I suck at pregnancy
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
So you mean no more cinnamon whiskey??!! Dammit!
No obviously the drinking is def done with. The others I don't plan on repeating I just feel like I should know this stuff.
I know What you mean!!! But your baby is OK!
I too had almost three glasses of wine, tossed those glasses back faster than ever, then tossed them up faster than ever! That how I knew I was pregs
I took a huge A$$ blasting fall down my stairs while wearing 4 inch heels!
Took Nexium for my heartburn... Not safe at all!
And did I mention took a Xanax as well!!
And the heating pad thing! I fell asleep with it only to wake up to a blister on my tummy!
And what do you know... My lil one is still sticking...
Its almost as if they know that we as their mommies are going to make mistakes... So by sticking with us, they are showing us they love us!

I look at it this way, if I didn't know and I did something, I just won't do it again. And just think about all the crap our parents did when they were pregnant with us!! My mom lived on pb sammiches, butterfinger blizzards and sweet tea. In her defense, it was all she could keep down. Ok my mom isn't a good example really. She took her vitamins and quit smoking. She did not quit Pepsi though. Bad example, sorry, Ok! Imagine a crack wh-re or one of those people on 16 and pregnant or "I didn't know I was pregnant until it landed in the toilet". Look! You're already doing better than them! (I'm all about the easy victories right now)
I doubt that 1 prilosec will do anything, and hey, did you atleast feel better? The fetus wants us to feel good, because if we feel good there's a better chance of us eating healthy. Or atleast thats how I see it. And now that you mention it, I could kill for a shot of Hot Damn. Just think of all the people that were conceived by completely drunk people! You're doing great if you only had one shot!
As for the heating pad, it sounds like you're pretty early, so even though you don't want fried fetus, its probably VERY well insulated at the moment.
And you got a get out of exercise card! I don't even have the energy to exercise! I'm PLANNING on swimming in June, and I'd really like to shave my legs again before then. And I'm pretty sure I spelled exercise wrong. If you have that energy, use it while you do! I didn't and now there are very large dustballs like tumbleweed in a ghost town.
There are a ton worse things you could be doing, so don't beat yourself up over the little things.

This post just cracked me up!! Thank you.
And thank you all, I think it's just been one of those days.
Yay! I brought joy! Everytime I grab a cupcake I think "It could be worse, I could smoke or drink or take up heroin."

Very true...very true!
Ohhhhh Butterfinger Blizard!!! You hit the nail on the head when using our moms as an example! My mother rode a roller coaster, played the alphabet game, and rode a horse and here I am today!

I just wanted to say that I was diagnosed with several digestive disorders last spring, and I was talking multiple prescriptions for that, including Prilosec daily- sometimes twice daily- before my BFP. My Dr. and my GI Specialist both confirmed that it's not highly recommended during pregnancy, but the benefits it provides me outweigh the potential negatives, so I quit taking it daily, but have the "OK" to take it on days it gets really bad. So, I just wanted to assure you shouldn't let that part of it cause you any more stress
Good luck with your pregnancy! I am only 14 weeks with my first baby that has stuck, so in no way can I assure you it gets easier, but I can tell you one thing: We are biologically made to be mothers- it's gotta get easier at some point, right?!
This cracked me up too! So hilarious. I agree though, we just have to do the best we can.
i've done a) c) and d). A was bottle of Dom Perignon for NYE, C was pepto bismal cuz I thought I had stomach flu cuz i was throwing up and D i also did heating pad cuz i also had cramps on my lower abdomin.
