2nd Trimester

big U/S ?

Does anyone have any advice or experience with taking a preschool age child to the U/S? I have a 4 yr old son and we aren't sure if we should take him with us to find out if he will have a baby brother or sister.

  • Im sure it will be fine unless your 4 y/o will run around like a crazy monkey. Can your 4 y/o sit still with your DH?

  • Yiou have to determine your child's maturity level for something like that. My 7 year old came this time but my 5 and 3 year old didn't make the trip due to that fact. My 3 year old is still kinda clueless about the baby anyways...lol... he will understand more when she is born.

  • When I had my daughter, I took my son who was almost 4 when she was born and he loved it!  Will you have someone else go as well?  That would be helpful! Good luck!
  • I think it is a great idea. That saying, I am pregnant with my first, but I have seen the interest in my best friends two year old around our baby bellies and he went to her u/s and loved it!
  • Had my 20 week ultrasound today and just brought DH. They do not allow children.

The room was so small and there were no chairs or anything for DH to sit in. He said he got really lightheaded from watching the tech fly across the baby to get measurements and almost walked out of the room to get fresh air. I was quite comfy!
