  • A brand named friskers makes a blunt scissor for 3 year olds.  We had to buy them for dd for preschool.
  • None?

Even the safety ones cut hair. It will be a while before I let R use them.

  • I have seen some (I think at an educational supply store?) that are all plastic and only cut paper, not hair or fabric. DS just has regular kid scissors that I rarely let him use unless I can be right there with him.

  • We have the Melissa and Doug scissors. I got them at an educational supply store but I'm positive I've seen them elsewhere. They came in a two pack - one blue, one red - and they only cut paper.

  • We use the ones you can find by school supplies/office supplies.  They coust $1-$2 a pair at Target or Walmart.  Carter has been using them since he was about 18 months old (obviously just exploring with them and trying to get the hang of them) and we've never had a problem.

  • I just got a blunt pair for kids from the grocery store. DD has been using them for over a year now and has free access to them (in a bin on the kitchen counter with crayons, markers etc). They make them available starting at 2 at daycare so I followed their lead. She is now pretty good with them and can cut along dotted lines.
