Success after IF

Anyone else's LO an awful napper?

Today at daycare, DS took two naps:  one was 20 minutes, the other was 30 minutes.  Seriously?  I wish I could say this was out of the ordinary, but it's not.  So, I brought him home and played with him for like an hour and he showed all the signs of being ready for bed and now he is out for the night...at 6 pm!  Anyone else have a baby who is like this?  It's hard not to be worried that my child is abnormal.  Oh, yeah, he doesn't even come close to STTN either.  Sad

Re: Anyone else's LO an awful napper?

  • Yep, that's exactly how Elizabeth naps at daycare. Drives me nuts! I feel so bad for her because I know she's exhausted. She normally takes a 20 minute catnap once we're home and is still asleep by 7/7:30

She's a great napper on the weekends at home. I just think daycare is too loud and busy and she doesn't want to give in and sleep, and once she does, she gets woken up before she can get a second sleep cycle started.

    So you're not alone!

  • DD woke up at 6:45 am (after being up at 3 am) and took only a 40 minute nap at daycare... this is very typical for her. She's only in daycare 2 days/week, and at home she'll nap in her swing (which will be outgrown one day soon) so we usually get at least 1 good nap out of her. But it's super frustrating when I bring home a very tired and fussy baby from daycare when all I want to do is play with her!

  • Nico was just like that, except he still wouldn't go down for the night until like 7-8!  Don't worry it gets better.  Nico's naps evened o ut a bit more and became more consistent around 8 months.

  • Yup, that was Cal to a "T" until about a month ago!  Now they are a little longer at daycare (anywhere from 30 - 75 mins), and much longer at home (anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours!).
