TTC after 35

Anybody ever tried the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor?

I'm thinking about spending the money but was wondering if anybody has any insight.  Of course their web site sings it's praises.  It's about $150 and another $45 or so for the test sticks.  Any info is helpful.  I have to take a break from my meds this cycle maybe next one too because of my hyper sensitive grapefruit sized failure of ovaries :(

Sorry to be a downer but I'm sick of the BFN!!!!!

Re: Anybody ever tried the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor?

  • I got mine off ebay. It was pretty easy to use and, along with temp charting, gave me a clear indication of my O.  You still have to temp though to confirm O.

  • If you are using OPK's a lot it could save some money in the long run and be more convienent, I thought about it but just haven't wanted to spend so much all at once. you might try swap board I seen a couple on there before. If you have the money I think it could be really cool.  Goodluck sweetie, The BFN can go to hell!

  • I was going to suggest buy it off ebay or craigslist or something. Starting it now and no clue but let hope it works in the next 2 months. Cross your fingers. I am assuming it is a hell of a lot easier to figure out then guessing what the OPK's colors are. Good luck to both of us

  • I used it.  I think it gives you a much better picture of when you O, but i never got a BFP off of it.

  • I have one too! I bought mine from drugstore.com and I think it was about $150 for it and a 30 pack of sticks...I think they had a deal.  SOme ladies have bought used ones and have had good results from it.

  • I got mine off E-bay for about $60, and you can get sticks for $30 on ebay too!  I did get my BFP using it!  I used it for about 6 cycles.
  • THis is the second cycle that I am using it.  I love the simplicity of it.  It tells me exactly where I am in my cycle.  I bought mine on Ebay for $60 and my test strips are from Amazon.

  • Ditto to others re:EBAY for monitor.  Don't know if this helps, but my husband's company has a flex spending program (FSA) that covers these...the price is the same, but at least it's something!  GL!
  • I have one and honestly in hindsight.... I probably wouldn't have bought it. I am a pretty big believer in charting, so the CBEFM just seemed to back that up. I think charting/regular OPKS work just as well.

    My .2 cents.

  • WOW!  Thanks Ladies for all the awesome advise!  I'm new here and everyone has been so helpful.

  • I'm a HUGE believer in the CBEFM. When we were TTC #1, I got a BFP with it the very first month that I used it after 6 months of TTC on our own. Unfortunately that ended in a m/c, but I felt the CBEFM was way easier than guessing if an OPK line was dark enough or not.

We wound up having DD with IVF #1. When we started TTC #2 last summer we went back to IVF and it didn't work for us. The first month after the failed IVF I used my CBEFM again and BAM - pregnant naturally!!!!! I am beyond thrilled because I wasn't quite sure we could get pg on our own successfully. I am now about 27 weeks along. Smile

So sorry for your loss but it is so awesome that it happened for #2!  I hope that we can just get it done this month.  I am so very sick of the Dr's Office. I wish you a H&H 9!  I love hearing stories like this (it keeps me motivated). Thanks

  • I hope it works for us this month. This is my first month using it and we are doing everything naturally. I hate guessing if the opk line is dark enough and stuff. Hope BFP for everyone!

  • Thanks for the warm wishes JilliansMoma. I know during our long journey of TTC our 1st daughter I always loved hearing success stories because it gave me hope that anything is possible. That's exactly why I wanted to share my story.

     Best of luck to everyone!!!!
