Around 8 weeks it started getting better. Everything I have read says the 8 week point is the turning point for most colicky babies. Do you wear you lo at all? If it weren't for my moby, I would have lost my freaking mind.

DS has been screaming off and on since 6:00 a.m. I'm talking red-faced, hysterical, top of his lungs screaming all.day.long.
I am going to lose my mind....
And yes, I wear him a lot- it really does seem to calm him! He also calms when I do skin to skin, especially while nursing. I literally sat topless with him in a diaper only for two hours today.
Around 8 weeks for us too is when it started getting better. Some things you might try:
-swaddling
-white noise (either sound machine, fan in bathroom or kitchen, etc)
Have you seen the Happiest Baby on the Block? That DVD was SOOO helpful for me and DH when DD1 was an infant. Good luck. Hope things look up for you soon... it can be so hard!

Our third night home from the hospital after DS cried until about 10 a.m. when he fell asleep, we ran out and bought both the book and DVD.
Let me tell you it was a godsend!! The 5 S's work like a charm most of the time! We also picked up a miracle blanket which worked wonders as well.
Unfortunately DS hates white noise...which is weird because it seems like all babies love it.
DD's was worst at about 8 weeks and progressively got better and resolved completed after we learned how to put her down for naps at 12 weeks. The book the Baby Whisperer totally helped!

We used to blast a vacuum sound for DD. We had it playing in her room all night long until she was like 6 months old. I also walked her constantly in the stroller or carrier for days on end. At the end of the day we would have dance parties to fast music and that seemed to calm her as well. Maybe music would help? Good luck!
My DD had reflux so she was pretty irritable until she was diagnosed around 3 wks and was put on Zantac. My DS unfortunately didn't grow out of colic until around 7 mos. They thought he had reflux too but that wasn't the case as none of the meds worked for him. Around 7 mos he just grew out of it and was calmer. I hope your DS grows out of it sooner and you can regain some sanity.
He didnt get better until about the 3 month mark but also had reflux so that could be why. He was just a generally cranky baby up until 4 months though and I would still consider him high needs. he just demands a lot of attention and constantly wants to be held which I dont mind, I just strap on my moby.
I know you sair wearing him helps, there are a ton of baby carriers out there to make it most comftorable for you. Also try Gripe water, it can really help with the gas that hurts their bellies. No, it wont last forever, you can do it!
Sounds like you are doing all the right things!! Hang it there. It is SO tough. Just know you are a wonderful mommy and it isn't anything you are or aren't doing. He is still developing and it will get better! Make sure you take time for you. Even if that is laying him in his crib for 5-10 min and letting him cry. I know that is hard but if you need the break to be and feel like a better mom, take it!
Good luck!!
My beautiful girls: Hadley 9.28.06, Emmerson 11.29.08 and Pilar 2.07.11, born premature at 33.3 weeks.
Swaddle, stroll, swing and white noise! ?I walked a million miles with that stroller!
My DD had reflux too. ?It doesn't hurt to ask your Dr about it. ?They give you a harmless antacid that works wonders. ?My DD had silent reflux, it would come up and then back down, she never spit up like most reflux babies. When feeding her I could hear it gurguling up and down her esophagus. ?She never slept for more then 45 minutes at a time, the first time we gave her the antacid she slept 6 hours straight. ?It was amazing!
Re: If your baby had colic...
Around 6 weeks I started to feel human again. Around 12 weeks I felt like I could function again.
Hang in there, it gets better!!
Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks for the advice and encouragement I took note of all your tips so I can try them and figure out what works for him.

He does have reflux also and was put on Zantac last week. It seems to help, but I have a hard time telling if his cries are the reflux or the colic.
