I so want to tear into my house and clean it from top to bottom, but I don't have the energy! So far, I've managed to do a load of laundry and give the dog a bath. I'm seriously considering calling Merry Maids...
My sister and I were talking last night about how I never got the "nesting bug" I did however pack up and entire apartment and move in my third tri. At the end I just started throwing things away because I couldn't deal with it anymore! DH had to sneak into the garbage and save the things he wanted. If I had the money, I would hire a maid....seriously!
I know the feeling. You'll get there eventually. I couldn't find the energy either when I first had the urge but after about a week or two of slacking I sucked it up and got things done. My sister came and helped me, maybe you have some family or friends who are willing to help!

I love the idea of a merry maids gift certificate for a shower gift. I wonder if I gave one to a friend if she would be insulted (that I implied her house was dirty) or grateful......

I'm right there with you... the past three weekends I have had the best of intentions for all the stuff I was going to do around the house, instead I seem to get the bare minimum done to keep the place presentable, and then I crash on the couch.
Ditto PP who said that a day of a cleaning service would be the best present!
I've never priced a cleaning service, but it's really starting to sound like a good idea! It would be great if they could come while I was in the hospital so we could come home to a nice clean house. Normally, I actually really enjoy cleaning my whole house,,very satisfying for some reason...but I feel way too big right now.
I think getting a Merry Maids gift certificate as a shower gift is an awesome idea! Even if the recipient doesn't realize it at the time, she will greatly appreciate it the closer she gets to her due date!
My parents asked what they could do to help out while I was in the hospital & I told them - someone can really clean the house. I haven't been able to clean the way I want to & I can't reach every spot in our tub. Although, Friday I did move all the furniture in the living room, dining room, & upstairs & swept & vaccuum. It is the cleanest the house looked in a while - even if it only lasted a day. The cat hair builds up to quickly! Either way, cleaning is the best gift, I agree! I didn't mind the nesting bug when it was cleaning LO's laundry, but lately I have been obsessed with making sure I do laundry every day. I just keep thinking I can go into labor at any time & I won't have the energy to do it when I get out of the hospital. It is annoying haha.
I will cook, clean up the kitchen, do dishes, laundry, and tidy up but then I'm pooped! I asked one of my friends to refer their cleaning lady to me and she made my house spotless! She was here for 7.5 hours dusting, doing the floors, walls and all the woodwork. The house looks amazing and she only charged $50. I gave her more because it was her first time and she had to do a lot more then normal because it had been a while since I got to things like the ceiling fans. I am going to have her come every other week from now on though because it is so worth it to me! My husband didn't get it until he saw how clean the house looked after she left. For some reason they think when the house is picked up its clean!

lol I suck at nesting too! I just want his room to be clean and tidy... the heck with the rest of the apartment. That is a losing battle! I have been cleaning through contractions all morning, but they are really starting to kick my butt!
