intro and question about child care in Md burbs

hey all. coming out of lurkdom with the ubiquitous childcare question. looking for child care recommendations in the cheverly, hyattsville, college park area or thereabouts. anyone around there? at this point, i'll take centers, nannies, in-home day care, whatever you got.

i'm planning to take 6 months maternity leave, so i won't need something until next dec. i understand with in-home day cares and nannies i should look closer to when i'll need them, but centers -- i prolly should have gotten my spawn on some waiting lists when she was poppy-seed size. sigh. 

being as i'm behind and clueless, any suggestions/resources would be most appreciated. tia!

    I found my in home daycare person here https://www.mdchildcare.org/mdcfc/mcc.html  Maryland Committee for Children.  I met a few nice ones in College Park through their listings.

    thanks! i'll check those out...

    and i didn't really give much of an intro, lol. panic induces a one track mind, i suppose. this is our first child, and i can't believe things are moving so dayum fast! H and i are both writers with nutty hours. i'm usually on P&CE in between work deadlines. thanks again for the welcome!
