You'll have to sand the surface (lightly) to get the gloss off & make it a little rough. Then spray with a primer. After that's dry (1 or 2 coats) spray with the paint color you want.
I would recommend using Krylon spray paint. They're a really good quality spray paint. I used their products for a project I did for our wedding. I also have a couple of their products for things I'm working on for the nursery
Def lightly scuff them with steel wool or a fine sandpaper then use spray primer. I personally paint anything that stands still long enough in my house. I try to talk myself out of buying something brand new that has tp be altered too much, unless the price or design is just too good to pass up.
Re: do you think I can paint these?
Definitely!
