Tummy time can be anything from lying on you to lying on a boppy, to completely on the floor. Which ones have you tried?
Everything! Laying on the floor, laying on the playmat, laying on the boppy, laying on the boppy ON the playmat, laying on our chests, our legs, on our legs with the boppy facing the TV, laying with a towel to prop him up, we get down right in front of him to engage him, we've tried mirrors, toys, you name it, he screams!
Sounds like you've tried most things... my only other suggestion would be on your bed or in his crib. Our LO does the best tummy time on a softer surface... our mattress happens to be pretty soft.
DD is a tummy time hater too, she's getting better with it but still isn't a huge fan. We bought her a new tummy time mat which she seems to like. It's the Infantino Surf Board one from BRU, it comes with a pillow to prop her up with and she seems to really like that. She can hold her head up, and has great head/neck control she just didn't want to do it. So the pillow is a good way to keep her up so she can see more, she's been tolerating tummy time now for about 10min at a time. WAY better than the 2-5 she would do before!! We also do tummy time with her laying on me, I can make faces or talk to her to help keep her busy.
Yikes! Well DD used to hate it too. Now she's cool with it. Maybe your LO needs more time. In the meantime keep trying even if it's for a minute. That just means you'll have to do TT more often in a day.

We do this, too, though not in the crib. We're trying to not encourage the crib as a play place.... We do put her on her tummy on the change pad after she's done, sometimes, though...
Lissah, when you put him on his tummy on your chests, are you laying down on your backs, or sitting on the couch or something?? Evs will sit on our lap, facing us, and try to stand up, or we'll have her against our shoulder while we're sitting/standing, and she'll try to push herself off that way. Also, do you have a mommy & me group? According to one of the moms at mine, one of the kids there who HATED tummy time would tolerate it for about 10 minutes (instead of 10 seconds) once the mom started putting him on his tummy at the group while other babies were doing tummy time... Another thing we find with Evs is that even though she's not a fan of tummy time, she will sleep on her tummy (and in fact will ONLY sleep on her tummy...)... would Kieran sleep on his tummy for a nap at all?
DD hates tummy time with a passion! Still does at this point, but has become a lot more tolerable doing it.
It sounds like you've done quite a bit, but maybe trying it out in intervals. This was the only way she would even cooperate.
We would wait til' about an hour after she's finished feeding just to make sure she won't spit up a lot.
Then have her lay on her tummy for about two minutes, hell even start off with 1 minute if he hates that much. Husband engages with her and I time it once she starts to get fussy or upset we would soothe her and talk to her telling her it's okay. If she cries more than 30 seconds than we try over again in five minutes.
We pretty much to a 1:1 ratio scenario one minutes on tummy and one minute off tummy. We gradually increased over time and sometimes there were days we had to go back some minutes because she was too fussy and wasn't having it that day. Now she is up to about 10 minutes on her tummy about 2-3 times a day. She has her FP activity mat that lights up and sings to her and we sing to her along with this polar bear.
GL! DD is a feisty one and it sounds like your DS is one too.
PS - we did this at the advice of my SIL who is a pediatric physical therapist.
Disliking Tummy Time is pretty typical at first. But since babies spend so much time on their backs sleeping and in ?containers? like car seats, strollers and bouncy seats, TT while awake is very important developmentally. Thus, Pathways Awareness has developed tips for parents to make their job easier. Check out their website: https://bit.ly/8IhuuF. They also have a unique developmental calendar with activities to do with your LO to foster his growth: https://bit.ly/5lGkTm. But with plenty of practice, both you and baby can feel more comfortable with it.

Here's a pic of the mat we got.
