  • my friend just delivered there and she only has good reviews. I didn't deliver there but used their lactation consultant services and they are amazing. Can't rave about those LCs enough. I will be delivering at Reston again but Loudoun is very close to where I live so I will be using their LCs again.

  • My best friend delivered there and had a fantastic experience.  They were very nice and accommodating to her and her family as well as me, who was out in the waiting area the whole labor:-) It was a beautiful facility with large rooms.

    ?

    ditto this word for word!?

  • I had 2 of my 3 girls there and loved it both times. The nurses are great and everyone is very informative and very nice, cannot say anything bad about my experiences there!
  • I delivered DD there.  I have nothing but good things to say about them.  The nurses were wonderful and attentive.  Everyone was so helpful. The birthing and post-labor rooms great.  The food wasn't too bad either (although I hadn't eaten in 24 hrs, so I was pretty freaking hungry when I had DD.) :o)

  • I am having my first child there this May.  My DH and I were there this past weeked for the Childbirth Express class (which I HIGHLY recommend if you are a first time parent).  We got to meet a lot of the staff and take a tour of the facility.  The labor rooms are huge and private as are the post pardom rooms (though not AS large, but nice and private).  I am really looking forward to delivering there.  The cafeteria is nice too - they even have a Caribou Coffee store!
  • Overall my experience was positive there.  The only negative thing I can say is the nurses really tried pushing Percocet on me after my c-section.  I really didn't want to take anything more than Ibuprofen if I could deal with the pain on my own since Percocet does pass into breastmilk.

  • Congrats!

We went for the standard tour, didn't meet any of the staff, but saw the rooms, went over details of checking in and during the labor process, we even were suprised at the end to see a new baby in the nursery.

I'm not a first time parent, but my husband is (how funny that sounds as I read it).. I have a 12 year old from my previous marriage. Anyway- I was thinking about the Express class but the soonest we can get it is a week prior to my due date in June. I think we'll try the refresher class.

I've heard nothing but good things about all the classes offered there so i'm anxious to take "something" soon.

My daughter just completed the safesitter babysitting class... AWESOME! great instructor, tons of info. If you know of any kids interested in babysitting, this is a class to tell them about!

Congrats again! Can't wait to hear how your day goes and I'll be there there soon after in June!

  • I delivered DD#2 there and had a good experience. The only downside for me was that my postpartum room ended up being right across from the nursery and nurses station. It was hard to get any quiet time because there were constantly people coming and going out in the hallway. It was a huge contrast to after I had DD#1 at Reston when my postparum room was at the end of a hallway so much quieter. Overall, I had good experiences at both hospitals with accommodations/rooms being a little nicer at Reston, but nursing staff being much more supportive of breastfeeding and natural childbirth at Loudoun.

I will agree with this... I actually wasn't in much pain after my C-section, but they kept giving me meds until I flat-out refused. I just didn't need them. Oh, and the shower in my room was terrible. It was so cold.

Also, my L&D did not go as planned. My water broke at 34 weeks and DD was in distress. I was so worried the whole time that they wouldn't know when she needed to come out, but when she did NEED to come out, they were able to get me into the OR and DD out within 15-20 minutes. They were all very supportive of BFing and hooked me up with everything I needed to pump for DD. Hopefully you won't need this, but the NICU was great, as well. There was only one nurse we didn't really care for.
