Back From Vacation & Update-Long

Hi Ladies,

Once again, thanks so much for all of your support after my last post (I still don't know how to link posts, but I wrote my last one on 2/17/10). Brief recap: I'm pregnant with High Order Multiples following an IUI in which I had two mature follies (but apparently, 3 immature follies that caught up). I followed my doctors' instructions to the T, and did not try to do anything to "up my odds" (i.e. sneaking in intercourse or messing with my dosages).

I went back this morning for a follow up u/s, at 8 wks, 2 days. As of this morning, all 4 babies are still "in residence" and all appear to be on track and have strong heart beats. However, there was one surprise...the nurse found a 5th heart beat today, so I now am pregnant with 5. You'd think I would've been shocked by this, but honestly, at this point, I think I'm numb to it all. I've been referred to a Peri and am awaiting a call back from the office to schedule my first appointment.

The good news is that I had a wonderful vacation with my H in Mexico. It was relaxing and I feel refreshed. I feel fine, physically, which I'm grateful for, but totally astonished by, considering. Obviously, my H and I will be making some difficult decisions in the coming weeks. I'm trying to wrap my head around all of this still.

Anyway, I just wanted to update you and thank you all again for your continued support.

Wow! I think I'd be numb too! All of that from an IUI...amazing!

Good luck with probably the most difficult decision you'll ever have to make in your life. I don't think any of us can really provide any guidance other than our thoughts and prayers.

I would be beside myself. and have to say I'd be thinking along the same lines as you are. I also had IUI and was really taken back that both mature follies took because nothing took prior to that IUI.

Okay, we're here for you. Let us know how everything is going and thanks for the update! I've been thinking about you since your original post.
