Update: Cervix Issues

I am in the hospital on bedrest due to issues with my cervix. I came in with 8mm of cervix left. I had a cerclage placed at 20 weeks and 1 day and my cervix went to 29. It slowly continued to shorten week after week getting down to 18. My dr. finally said I couldn't sit up past 30degrees unless it was to go to the bathroom or to eat. I did it and the next appt my cervix had gained 1mm which put me at 19mm. The next week I had gained 2mm which put me at 21mm. I go back again this week...if everything is ok (cervical gain or slight loss) I will be going home! The goal was 28 weeks...I'm shooting for 30 then 32. Just wanted to let you girls know what was going on and give hope to others! I came to this board a hot mess... With encouragement from you ladies, prayer and of course bed rest...things are looking good!

    Congrats, that is great news!!! I too am on BR for a short cervix and had to spend over a week in the hospital for PTL. Been here since week 28 and I'll be at 32 weeks Wednesday. My dr said I'm holding steady but that I'm about 90% effaced. But she did say that if I hold steady till week 34 she may let me go back to work so I am hopeful for that. Good luck with your check up this week and hope you get to go home soon!

    Woohoo hang in there cervix.  I just found out Wed that my cervix measured 1.4, then on Fri 1.1.  I'm too late for a cerclage so I'm on bedrest.  I go back Wed for another measurement.  It's nice to hear about other women going through what I'm going through.  I'm glad to hear your doing well.  Good luck!

    I have been on bedrest since 22 w with a short cervix; by 24 weeks I was down to 12 mm where it has stayed steady (between 12mm and 16mm).  It has been 11 weeks since I first found out my cervix was shortening, and things are still cooking in there.  You are doing a great job!  I promise you 32 weeks will be here before you know it, and you'll be looking at going til 36.  Keep up the good work!!!!

    I am diagnosed with short cervix as well.   Mine was .8 when I was put in the hospital at 22 weeks.  It went to 3.1, then was 1.9 yesterday at my MFM appt.    I am home on bedrest with a weekly appt at MFM. 

    I am only 23 weeks now.  You ladies inspire me and give me hope!
