Since this is the most pregnant I have ever been, this is my new worry to obsess over. I've done some googling but can't find a definitive answer on if they always measure or if they only measure if they are worried due to contractions or past personal history, etc.
Re: Do they always measure cervix length at big u/s?
Because we're fancy like that.
Yes, they check it with every u/s but you have to ask for them to tell you anything - at least at my OB.
Gasp - Are you finding out the gender? I can't wait o find out!!!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

After all this IF stuff, I am good at asking questions!! I will definitely ask if they are measuring it and what it is.
ETA since I saw the everyone else's replies: Interesting. Although my OB has an ultrasound in her office, it is only for quick peeks. She sends me to an outside lab for big scans (NT Scan and Anatomy Scan). Hopefully that means they will check it during the big u/s.
We are not finding out the sex! I have no desire too (not sure why since I am a huge planner). DH would like to but I told him I overrule him in this case. I figure I can use it as motivation during pushing (at least I am telling myself that now). Besides, I figure it will be more "fun" to argue about both sets of names.
I can't believe it is almost here...7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning!
They measured my cervix at every ultrasound I've had. They won't always offer up that info (depends on the Dr/tech) so I would just ask if they don't tell you.
Wow - what will power, you are a much stronger woman then me! The name thing was not fun for me at all. I told H he could not talk to me about names until we knew the sex so we only had fight over 1 name rather then both!
Good luck Wednesday - you are going to love seeing how big your LO became! Looking forward to a great report!
