I have thrown up everything today and now I am dry heaving for hours. Should I be calling my doctor and concerned for the baby?

I'm lurking... but I just wanted to mention that if you can't keep
any fluids down, you should call your OB. I had to go in for IV fluids
a few times because I couldn't keep anything down. The baby will be
fine, but you want to make sure that you are doing okay, too.
Also, you can talk to your doctor about prescribing something for the nausea, like Zofran.
Agree with pp, if you can't keep liquids down, call your doc! If you can keep liquids down, you're not harming the baby, but you'll still be depriving yourself.
I had to go to the hospital the other day for IV fluids. Go see your doctor now. He/She can give a prescription to help the nausea. The new meds are a world of difference.

Thanks all. I slept alright. I am going to try breakfast this morning and if it ends badly I will call the doctor.

have you tried ginger ale? I couldn't keep anything down yesterday either, not even a drop of water or a morsel of food until i tried ginger ale (which i normaly hate) but it worked.. and saltine crackers.. they have stayed down so far..
good luck, i know how you're feeling.......i'm scared to leave the house without my puking equipment.
I tried ginger ale and even sprite, nothing was staying down. That is what worried me.

Re: How much throwing up before concern for baby?
Try to keep hydrated. You can go up to 3 days without doing harm to the baby. If it continues until tomorrow morning I would call your doctor.
my sister threw up every day during her pg. she has a happy healthy 3yo now!
But like the PP said, it never hurts to call the doc...what is normal for one person could be not for someone else.
